Newmarket Friday/Saturday

It's getting close to the end of the flat season when the Cesarewitch comes around.

That's on Saturday but starting with Friday there's two G3s and two G2s.  First of these is the Cornwallis G3 over 1000m for the 2yo with 11 to run headed by Brussels on evens for O'Brien-Soumillon – he's a Wooton Bassett.  Easterby's Revival Power is on 5/2 and Argentine Tango the stablemate must do something some day especially at 11/1.

The Oh So Sharp is also G3 for the 2yo fillies over 1400m with 10 to go. Calendar Girl and Classic Cuvee are both on 10/3 and not much between them – maybe the latter is she's a Siyouni.  Senorita Vega is not the roughest and worth and e/w at 15/2.

The Thoroughbred Industry Awards Challenge Stakes is G2 for 3yos over 1400m and here Cosmic Year is on top for Harry Charlton but we have a slight preference for Poet Master on 3/1 Burke-Lee and our old friend Beauvatier is on another raiding expedition and on 5/1.

The Fillies' Mile is G1 for the 2yos and there will be 11 of them headed by Precise, O'Brien's Starspangledbanner filly going for a 4th consecutive win.  Legacy Link is 10/3 for the Gosdens-Keane and Dance to the Music 13/2 Appleby-Buick with both fillies by Dubawi.

Saturday starts with the Darley Stakes G3 over 1800m with just 6 running and Damysus on 7/4 just ahead of Gladius 3/1 in the market.

The Zetland is over 2000m for 2yos  and it's also G3 with 8 runners.  Look to the Starts is on 5/2 for Appleby-Buick and then O'Brien has Pierre Bonnard on 11/4 with Soumillon riding and 3/1 Endorsement with Wayne Lordon up.

The Autumn Stakes is G3 over 1600m for the 2yos with Al Zanati on 11/4 for Appleby – Buick and on the same quote Straight Up O'Brien-Soumillon so that could be a clash of the titans! Hankelow Burke-Lee is on 3/1.

The Dewhurst G1 is over 1400m for the 2yos with the ridiculous "no geldings" proviso so 9 to run headed by the well-named Distant Storm (by Night of Thunder) Appleby-Buick on 9/4 with Coolmore's Gstaad just behind on 3/1 with Soumillon riding for O'Brien.

That could be another clas of the titans!  However while they are eyeballing each other we have the unbeaten Zavateri from Eve Johnston-Houghton's yard on 10/3 going for win #5 and they could do it.

The Cesarewitch is over 3600m with 21 runners and of course very open – 13/2 the field.

The pin goes for Alphone Le Grande, Bunting and Hipop de Lore in no particular order.
