In the Middle East on Friday

Two interesting meetings – one at Meydan and the other in Riyadh.

In Dubai we had the Listed Al Gafhaid Sprint over 1200m on the dirt.  It was won by El Nasseeb 9/1 with Antonio Fresu riding for Al Musabeth.  Colour King was second on 11/1 and Morning third at 15/1.  Dark Saffron was disappointing.

Over in Riyadh there were the two Crown Prince's Cup both over 2400m on dirt.  The first was for the Domestic bred horses and a G1 which went to Wanaameen, a promising 3yo colt, under Soumillon who finished four lengths ahead of Almaaqem, a 5yo horse and another 5yo horse Takzeem was 6 1/4 lengths further back.

The second Cup was a Listed race and was won by Sayyah, a 3yo gelding ridden by Naif Alamazi with Haqeet second and one of our seletions Wooton'sun a 6yo French-bred gelding third and Gran Descana under Soumillon fourth.
