Distrustful Award was booked to be shipped over to Melbourne on Wednesday night, his trainer, Peter Luttrell, will head over Sunday morning.

This will be Distrustful Award's fourth run in from a spell. He ran a slashing first-up third in Hobart before being unplaced at two subsequent runs. He hasn't started since 31 August, but trialled impressively over 1400m in Launceston on 23 September.

"He trialled really well, I was quite happy with his trial. Young Kirra-Lee (Lane) rode him and said he was cruising, he pulled up good, and he worked enormously this morning. I've been really happy with him, so all systems go," Luttrell said on Wednesday.

"He goes on the boat tonight, I've got him in the Seymour Cup on Sunday, he will be staying at Seymour, touchwood everything goes ok, and 10 days later we will head to Geelong.

"It's probably a tad short for him, the 1600m on Sunday. He hasn't raced for a few weeks now, but he's fresh and I'll be happy if he's hitting the line hard and that will top him off nicely."

Anthony Darmanin, who won the Launceston Cup aboard Distrustful Award, has the ride at Seymour.

Distrustful Award won exemption into the $500,000 Geelong Cup (2400m) with his win in Launceston earlier this year.

Depending on how he goes, Luttrell may aim Distrustful Award at a 2800m race at Flemington on Cup Day or head home and prepare for the Summer Carnival.

Prior to Seymour, Luttrell has four from his stable entered for Launceston on Friday night. He is keen on Zurich in the first race of the night.

Zurich has been placed twice from seven runs and has stretched out to 2100m, but Luttrell says while fresh, Zurich can run well over 1400m.

"I was quite happy with his trial, they were a bit nippy for him over 800m but he hit the line alright in the last 100m. He's done really well since, and it's quite a winnable race, I think he's a real live chance.

"I think he can possie up midfield, it's not a big or overly strong field."

Apprentice Kirra-Lee Lane will be aboard and will claim 4kg; it will be just her fifth race ride.

Luttrell also has Seditious Award in the 1200m maiden and Captain Morgan in the 1400m class 6; they too are both resuming from spells. Creative Licence is the first emergency in the 1100m class 3.

It's a seven-event program on Friday night, the first at 18:03. Matt Reid and Colin McNiff will host the action on Tasracing Live and Sky Thoroughbred Central.
