Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Kembla Grange, Armidale and Ballarat.
KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 4 @ 2:20 PM
MONTE KATE (5) is trained on the track and finds her race today fifth-up. Sat on the speed before being nailed late when a nose second over 1200m here on May 18. Will prove hard to run down on the firmer track. CLOSE ENCOUNTER (3) another trained on the track showing ability. Won well on resumption two-back, before charging late when fifth over 1100m at Hawkesbury on May 14. Sure to be strong late from the wide gate. RUNWITHTHETIDE (1) will relish the drop in class after tiring late when seventh over 1100m in Midway grade at Rosehill on April 27. Will sit on the speed with the claim and play a leading role. UNDIVIDED (2) first-up after nine months failed to handle the heavy (8) going when eighth over 1100m at Gosford on May 16. Raced behind some smart types last time in and not to be underestimated.

ARMIDALE: RACE 3 @ 2:05 PM
ELECTRIC EVIE (1) is progressing well this prep and looks ready to win. Backs up a week after closing well to finish second over 1200m at Tamworth. Getting out to seven furlongs for the first time is a positive move. The sparingly raced mare SMART LILY (8) has struggled on heavy tracks at three of her four career runs. The other appearance was on a soft surface when she finished third over 1250m at Taree. Major contender if the track dries out a bit as expected. SUPREME LUCAS (11) is another who couldn't handle the heavy going last start, finishing well back at Taree. Finds the line well when conditions suit so getting to this distance for the first time should see him working into it late. MIMESSI (7) has failed to run out the trip at his last two outings, both over 1700m at Grafton. Worth another chance coming back to this journey. SNIPPETY BOBBINS (9) wasn't beaten far at Inverell last start and could sneak into the frame.

BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
WIRRPANDA (5) won his maiden first up at Geelong and has tackled stronger races at his past two, including a Vobis race at Caulfield two back. He drops back a level here and probably has a bit more upside than most of his rivals. GREENHILL PRINCE (2) won in this grade two back at Geelong before an even effort there last time. Back in trip for this and draws well. DONATION (7) resumed over 1012m at Sale last start and finished fifth. Look for an improved run from the good draw. HAATHER (6) con contest for a place.
