The action on Thursday takes place at Hamilton, Hawkesbury, Ipswich, Pakenham and Wellington.

Race 7 Hawkesbury

Zerkhan @ 3.50

Race 6 Ipswich

Farwest @ 3.60

Race 9 Hamilton

Bubble Palace @ 4.20

Zerkhan goes for Hawkesbury glory

The penultimate contest on the Hawkesbury card is an 1800m Class 1 set weights contest, with a field of 12 set to go to post on a soft 5 track.

Gulf Of Mexico is expected to prove popular for the Annabel Neasham team, having demonstrated good form when trained in Ireland.

The gelding broke his maiden over 1637m at Killarney in October 2022, but he has had just three starts subsequently.

The four-year-old's sole start in 2024 saw him finish down the field in a 2414m handicap at Leopardstown in October and he switched hemispheres following that effort.

The son of Galileo showed plenty of promise when three lengths sixth in an 1800m Benchmark 64 handicap on the Kensington track at Randwick when debuting for Neasham on 15th May.

While improvement is expected here, Tom Sherry's mount looks opposable, with preference for the John Thompson-trained ZERKHAN who finished sixth in that Randwick event.

The three-year-old proved a disappointment having raced prominently prior to fading when beaten eight-and-a-half-lengths on that occasion but he had shown good form prior to that.

The 3.50 selection had won over 1400m when contesting a maiden on a soft 6 track when racing first up this prep and he followed that up with a third at Wyong.

The Real Steel colt contested a six runner 1600m Class 1 handicap at Wyong and any softening of the going would be no issue with the pick having raced on a heavy 10 track that day.

Regular pilot Keagan Latham, on board for all three starts this prep is again set to ride and he looks capable of returning to winning ways.

Farwest ready for Ipswich success

The sixth race of the day at Ipswich is a 1700m Benchmark 65 handicap event for three-year-olds.

Medical Autocrat is expected to start favourite from an inside barrier having registered a win in a 1625m maiden at Toowoomba when last in action on 18th May.

The gelding started a $2 favourite when coming home over two-and-a-half-lengths clear of his rivals in a 1625m maiden on a soft 5 track.

Trained by Corey & Kylie Geran he had been freshened prior to that effort having registered a good two length third over 2100m in a Benalla maiden on his penultimate start.

FARWEST is the selection here, however, having registered some good efforts in defeat in stronger contests this prep.

The 3.60 son of Heroic Valour was beaten less than three-and-a-half-lengths when third in a 1400m Benchmark 68 handicap on a heavy 8 track at Sunshine Coast on his penultimate outing.

The Tony & Maddysen Sears-trained gelding was slowly away when stepped up to 1800m for the first time at Eagle Farm earlier this month.

The selection lost out by a length when fifth in a Benchmark 70 handicap on a soft 7 track on that occasion and dropping in grade he looks capable of doubling his career tally.

Bubble to score at Hamilton

Daniel Bowman saddles BUBBLE PALACE in the finale at Hamilton and his representative looks capable of recording a win in the 1100m Benchmark 64 handicap.

A soft 5 track is expected here, with the filly having delivered a victory by a narrow margin in similar conditions at Horsham earlier this month.

The four-year-old raced from the front on that occasion but has performed well when ridden with more restraint in the past, including when third in a small field Cranbourne contest in March.

Any drying of the ground would be no issue, with the 4.20 pick having performed well on a sound surface in the past.

A wide draw isn't ideal for Jaylah Kennedy's mount here however he arrives here on the back of a win and is selected to register back-to-back wins.
