Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 25.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Wyong, Bendigo, Gatton, and Bunbury.
WYONG: RACE 7 @ 4:05 PM
CAPITAL HEART (1) total forgive from the sticky gate when returning from a four-month break with a plodding 10th over 1200m at Newcastle on June 29. Well drawn for this with Tommy Berry taking the ride from a low draw. Will race closer and looks hard to stop. GLOBAL EMPIRE (3) had mixed fortunes after two runs back and lone win came at the Wyong circuit. Kept up to the mark with a strong trial win over 795m at Warwick farm on July 15. Drawn out again and look for him doing his best work late. EASTERN FRONT (4) fitter after one run back when never comfortable in the heavy (8) going when seventh over 1100m at Hawkesbury on July 11. Maps to get the right run and improvement is anticipated. DRAMA DODGER (11) trained on the track and total forgive second-up when failed to stretch out in heavy (9) conditions finishing fifth over 1200m at Warwick Farm on July 10. Placed here two-back and expected to play a leading role.

BENDIGO: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
ROCKING THE BOAT (3) resumes and creates interest here. She won well on debut at Sandown Lakeside before being thrown into the G2 Angus Armanasco and finishing last at Caulfield. Back to this sort of level looks an ideal race for her and she should be hard to hold out late. THINKING RAIN (8) resumes. She was in consistently strong form last time in and 1300m from an ideal draw looks a nice spot for her fresh. Should go close. DON'TDOUBTLAYLA (2) struggled in testing conditions first-up at Sandown Lakeside but has upside and can bounce back. SHAMMY EXPRESS (7) is lightly raced and in the each-way mix.
SELECTIONS: Rocking The Boat to win.
GATTON: RACE 5 @ 2:35 PM
DIRT CHEAP (5) is first-up here but didn't do much wrong in his first campaign with two wins and a second from just three outings. Revved up for this with two recent trials and rates a leading contender against this lot. GERRYMANDER (9) looked very good dominating a recent Beaudesert trial and should find this easier than what she faced when last in work. Can play a major role while fresh. FLYING TYROL (14) has placed at the past couple and is drawn to get a cosy run from gate three. Top-three candidate. MY ONE (15) has placed on all going and may earn some minor money. ARTEMAS (2) has hit the top-five in all four runs to date and looks one for the exotics players.
SELECTIONS: Dirt Cheap to win.
BUNBURY: RACE 8 @ 6:43 PM
COVERT ROSE (4) led unexpectedly here first-up this grade and was narrowly beaten. She has more to give and is proven second up. Pike stays aboard and will likely take a sit. In a top barn and can go on with it. MIRO (8) was better again second-up over a mile. Won his only third-up outing and fitter he will be finishing hard. SNAZZLER (1) is also third-up and will find this easier than Belmont. Draws wide but he's at his best over a mile and the 3kg claim brings him into it. ZAZA ROCK (7) has a similar profile and Chris Parnham is a key jockey switch for the apprentice. She's good enough.
