Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 05.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Lismore, Moruya and Pakenham.
LISMORE: RACE 6 @ 3:50 PM
The sparingly raced WOTSIT (7) picked up nicely last time out and just missed the placings over 1100m at Grafton. Has been dogged by bad gates at his last two but fares a lot better today. Major contender. Veteran mare SEPTEMBER GIRL (10) has found form at her last couple, the latest offering a close third over this trip at Grafton. Ideally drawn and races well here. Definite threat. LADY TULESSA (1) disappointed at Grafton last start but will find this easier. Worth another chance. MILTON ROAD (2) resumes. Won a recent Murwillumbah trial by panels so he looks ready to run well. UNDER TWENTY TWO (6) was scratched from the previous to be kept for this. Ran a better race here last start and should be about the money again.
SELECTIONS: Wotsit each-way at big odds.

MORUYA: RACE 5 @ 3:35 PM
THOUGHTFUL (2) gave them a galloping lesson on debut when a slick on-pace 2.75 len victory over 1200m at Goulburn on July 5. Gets all the favours again on an improving track and can continue on his winning ways. SANTORINI SUN (4) at her top for this and comes back a couple of grades today. Big run from the wide draw in the heavy going when 1.4 lens eighth over 1435m at this track three-and-a-half weeks ago. Gets the claim again and expecting more here. PERUNO (6) mixing his distances up of late and his best efforts have been over this track and trip. Made a little ground late when seventh over 1000m at the Sapphire Coast on July 28. A month between runs at latest and not to be underestimated. SELECTIONS: Thoughtful to win.
PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 7 @ 3:30 PM
WRITTEN BLIGH (8) is a consistent type who came clear for her second win last time out at this track and distance, scoring by 1.75 lengths after tracking the speed. She maps for a very similar run here from the gate and can go on with it. BOLD PRINT (5) has won both starts this time in, both over 1000m at this track. He's won them both easily, the next challenge is 1200m but that shouldn't pose an issue. DUEL VENTURE (6) was a smart winner at this track and distance last start in a Bm58, winning by nearly four lengths. More depth here but he must be respected. KODIAK (1) is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Written Bligh to win.
