Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 18.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Sandown, Doomben, Murray Bridge and Belmont.

CANTERBURY: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM

BOSTON ROCKS (4) has raced on the speed and battled on well to finish in or about the placings at his four runs this prep, all in Saturday company. Drawn to enjoy a perfect run and back in this grade he looks poised to grab a well-deserved win. MAFIA (2) worked hard to find the lead after an ordinary jump then the effort told late over 1000m at Warwick Farm last time out. Star provincial performer but has struggled in town consistently. This looks a nice race, so he is worth another chance. FIRE STAR (8) settled midfield and couldn't improve last Wednesday over 1000m at the Kensington track. Very fit now and the extra 100m suits. Capable of taking this out. RAVENCLAW (7) is fresh from a five-month spell. Generally needs a run before he hits his straps - the engagement of McDonald is the reason he must come under notice. EYE PEA OH (9) hasn't won for 11 months but is finding the line well in similar races and is worth each-way consideration.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Boston Rocks.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 5 @ 3:20 PM

LANDMARK (7) looks clearly the horse to beat here. He's off a 60-day let up here having chased home First Settler at Flemington in a pair of strong 2yo races. That horse ran second to Growing Empire on Saturday which looks Group 1 3yo form. MANTUA (6) is racing well, a dominant winner two back at Cranbourne before a close-up defeat as an odds-on favourite at Bendigo. Maps well and will take some beating. NOT SURPRISED (14) resumes. She won well on debut at Sunshine Coast Poly before tackling a good Listed race, not disgraced in sixth. Can figure here. SON OF ZORRO (8) next best.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Landmark.

DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 4:38 PM

GLEBE (7) was switched north from Waller's Sydney stable and belted the Murwillumbah Maidens by 3L first-up. Has more to give and the longer sprint will suit. She'll be better for the outing and the premier hoop is booked. That's a decent push for her chances. AITUTAKI (1) resumed on the same day and won a CL1 well. She'd come off a try in Stakes level and maps well with Cahill in the saddle. She will keep building and is a chance. JUKEBOX GLOW (5) was tracking well before getting too far back here in tougher grade. Draws awkwardly again but gets in well with the 2kg claim. DUNTROON LASS (13) is third-up off two near misses at Gatton. Has a handy 3kg claim and she ran her best race over this longer sprint. That would see her competitive.
SELECTIONS: Backing Glebe.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 4 @ 2:25 PM

SCANDALIST (9) lengthened nicely to the line fresh when missing by a long neck here a fortnight ago. Is sure to have come on with that run under the belt and is drawn favourably again. Bold showing anticipated. GINGER SINNER (5) is a Castelvecchio gelding on debut for the smart juvenile stable of R & C Jolly. Showed promising signs in most recent trial here in readiness. Draws to get all the favours and has gun hoop in Toeroek sticking from trials. Bright start anticipated. ARTICULATING (2) gave backers a bold sight on debut here two weeks ago, only to get captured on the line. Strips fitter and is sure to be in this for a very long way. MYSTIC WONDER (14) returns and looks to have come on nicely during the break on the back of a nice trial win here in the lead-up. Don't take lightly.
SELECTIONS: Scandalist to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 6 @ 4:47 PM

MADE IN MEXICO (4) may not have handled the heavy going last start at Pinjarra following a strong run at Belmont in Saturday grade prior. He gets Pike back in the saddle from a favourable alley and he was trending the right way before last start's hiccup. Comes into this fresh and can bounce back. SUNNY HONEY (1) ran on strongly from toward the back over 1200m here in Saturday company. Back to the midweeks now, with Martinan's 3kg claim coming in handy. Goes well at this course and distance and is expected to put his best foot forward. EMPRESS OF INDIA (8) is better than she showed first-up and the inside draw can see her sit closer in the run. MAGNALEE (2) won't be far away on resumption.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Made In Mexico.
