Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 23.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Grafton, Narromine, Warrnambool and Bunbury.
GRAFTON: RACE 6 @ 4:40 PM
VOLCANIC LOVE (1) ready to peak third up after showing ability at Doomben and Rosehill at his last runs. Back in his right class here and gets all the favours from the low gate. The one to beat. I AM CONVINCING (7) well drawn today after having genuine excuses at his last two outings. Goes well here and can race much closer from the good draw. Each way. CHARLES RENNIE (16) massive form reversal at start five when a slick maiden winner on resumption over 1175m here on August 31. Clearly come back well and not to be underestimated. Maps to get the right run. MARGOT'S BULLSEYE (8) holding her form well and rewarded for her consistency when demolishing a maiden field by 3.5 lens over 1405m at Coffs Harbour on September 5. Fitzgerald sticks with the claim and stays in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Volcanic Love to win.

NARROMINE: RACE 4 @ 3:10 PM
CASDAEMON (6) produced an eye-catcher first-up at Scone then raced a bit flat last start at Muswellbrook over 1280m. Not a noted second-up performer so best to overlook that run. Can bounce back. SEVEN MILE MISSILE (1) transferred from Price/Kent to Brett Robb and returned from a six-month spell last time out with an encouraging second over 1100m at Wellington. Will take a lot from that hit out and is a big chance despite the wide draw. RICH STREET (9) is getting close to a win. Raced a lot closer than usual at her latest appearance then fought on doggedly to be beaten just half a length over 1400m at Wellington. Can build on that promising effort. INFINITE PRINCE (2) was run off his legs first-up over 950m at Moree. Placed 3/3 at today's journey so he can improve greatly. POWER OF HOPE (8) steps up a level - has been okay this prep and looks a lightweight hope.
SELECTIONS: Backing Casdaemon.
WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM
ROYALZEL (18) made up some late ground when finishing fourth at Geelong last start just over 3 weeks ago on a track that was firmer than he preferred. He steps out beyond a mile for the first time which should suit him and with track conditions to suit, he will be hard to hold out. CHEROKEE BRAVE (4) was runner-up in the same race as the second pick when resuming and normally improves quickly with racing. He was good enough to be Stakes placed last season and should work his way through the grades this year. RAVEN'S SILVER (15) has been racing well over the winter and should have the fitness edge over most of his rivals. He led and was run down late at Seymour last start and will be the one to peg back again. GHETTO SUPASTAR (2) is getting fitter and is ready now to put his best hoof forward with the blinkers on for the first time.
SELECTIONS: Royalzel to win.
BUNBURY: RACE 2 @ 2:27 PM
MAI ALOHA (10) did a lot wrong on debut and still managed to finish second after being run down late. She was put aside to mature and has had a very quiet trial in the lead-up to her return. William Pike is in the saddle on race day for the first time and from a handy draw, she is the one to beat. FIRST BEACH (1) is an ex-Victorian who was third on debut at Cranbourne and has won a Lark trial recently for his new connections. He will be a lot stronger in this campaign and can make a winning West Australian debut. BUSTER'S GIRL (9) looked much better when finishing fourth out of her class at Belmont 12 days ago. She drops back into maiden company and is ready to put her best hoof forward. MAZZETTI (4) had a touch of second-up syndrome last start and her fresh-up effort for third is the guide to use. Both of her career placings have come on this track and she has each-way claims again.
SELECTIONS: Mai Aloha to win.
