Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 04.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Balaklava, Ipswich, Caulfield Heath, Belmont and Launceston.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 6 @ 5:50 PM
ACCREDITED (1) was backed off the map first-up over 1100m at Canterbury and flew late but missed by a whisker after being held up for much of the straight. Nicely placed over this slightly longer trip. Gets plenty of galloping room from the wide gate and just one bend to negotiate. Perfectly placed to repay punters. New Brad Widdup acquisition GELATIN (2) returns from a six-month spell. Opened last prep with a minor placing over 1300m at this track. Well in after the claim and is sure to be primed for a big effort. UNION ARMY (3) started favourite but got back in the field and missed the frame when fresh from a 14-week break over 1250m at Canterbury recently. Goes well second-up so he can make amends. BROADWAY BOUNCER (4) resumes. Trialling impressively and is beautifully weighted after Roper's claim. Must be included. LLEWELLYN (6) is racing in great heart and has the ability to measure up in town.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Accredited.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Warwick Farm Computer Card.
BALAKLAVA: RACE 1 @ 2:10 PM
SOMEWHERE SOON (8) continues to leave herself with too much to do but is savaging the line late. Peaking now and finally draws a gate. Expect her to take closer order and prove very hard to hold out. SAINT BOOM (7) only warmed to her task late on debut at Murray Bridge but did close off nicely into the placings. Has kept the legs ticking over with a Strathalbyn trial placing in between runs and has a gun hoop in Nunes sticking. No reason she can't go one better. CRACKEN GOOD TIME (1) was much better at the latest when sent forward at Gawler, only to be captured late. Hopefully look to roll forward again and with a fitness edge he could prove difficult to reel in. SON OF VADAMOS (3) missed the bob at a big price last start. Drops back sharply in trip on quick turnaround and could be worth keeping safe as a value play in exotics.
SELECTIONS: Somewhere Soon to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 3 @ 3:13 PM
AITUTAKI (7) has been right there at the past three outings and looks to be building up to another win. Has placed over this track and trip and will be at peak fitness for this. Rates the testing material. TO WISH (11) has been just behind the placegetters of late and strikes a winnable contest here. Winning hoop Orman reunites and can play a major role in the outcome. PINKUS (3) gets 2kg weight relief with the claim and is a genuine top-three candidate on best form. SCRIBBLE (4) was a touch flat at the latest effort but go on the close-up second to start the campaign. Worth another chance. READY AND LUCKY (10) next in line from the Gollan yard.
SELECTIONS: Aitutaki to win.
CAULFIELD HEATH: RACE 8 @ 7:30 PM
NAVY KING (4) resumed with an encouraging run in the Ararat Bowl over 1300m, running on well for second, beaten a long neck. He got over much further last time in, looking very smart when winning over 2000m at Flemington, and the rise to 1500m now looks ideal. ROADCONE (14) is racing well without winning, beaten a couple of times when hard in the market. Like the senior jockey going aboard. THE JESTER'S SON (12) was good fresh at Pakenham and has the ability to test these. DE BERGERAC (9) was a bit plain last time but is worth another chance.
SELECTIONS: Navy King to win.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 8:10 PM
NICKELPLAY (9) won like a smart horse over 1200m first-up before good runs in the Burgess Queen and the Champion Fillies her past couple. Back slightly in trip today looks a smart move and while she has drawn wide, she has run well from the back previously. Can storm over the top and get the job done. THE KING'S UNCLE (3) gets the tongue tie on today after coming through a strong race at Belmont most recently over 1300m. Campbell takes 1.5kg off now and he maps for a lovely run. Can go up a level now third-up and put his best foot forward. CAPORETTO (5) got the job done in Maiden company last time out and can go on with the job with plenty of upside in his favour. Parnham sticks from a good alley and he's expected to take plenty of beating. FRAPPUCCINO (2) was strong from the front last time out and should take catching again. SWEET ADMIRATION (7) hasn't won for a long time but can go close out to 1400m now.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Nickelplay in the last.
LAUNCESTON: RACE 6 @ 9:00 PM
Plenty of chances. GOLDEN MEADOW (4) has improved further this preparation. She was beaten 1L here 7 days ago over 1100m and all three wins have been over 1200m. She's third up now and has a handy 2kg claim. Maps for the run of the race. WITHIN SIGHT (9) spiked her figures again winning a CL1 over 1400m. Comes back to 1200m following a brief freshen. Has a 2kg claim and can keep improving. NGAPALI BEACH (10) missed 1L second-up behind Street Diva in a 62. She jumps from an inside gate and will get every chance. STREET DIVA (5) will be fitter and she seeks the hat-trick off the narrow win. She draws awkwardly today but the 4kg claim brings her into it.
SELECTIONS: Backing Golden Meadow.
