Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 15.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Nowra, Bendigo, Sunshine Coast, Geraldton and Hobart.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 1 @ 1:35 PM
TOKYO LADY (12) makes her debut for a new stable and she's trialled like she's ready to put in a big performance fresh. Nicely drawn and hard to beat if she runs up to it. ROMAN SCRIPT (3) has looked good at the trials winning both hitouts spaced by three months. Keep safe. SHE CONQUERS (8) ran a nice race on debut behind a handy one and resumes after two nice trial wins. Must be respected. ISLA D'AMORE (7) and WANDAYE (13) can run well fresh.
SELECTIONS: Tokyo Lady to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Hawkesbury Computer Card.
NOWRA: RACE 8 @ 5:21 PM
POINT AND SHOOT (7) promising gelding who will strip fitter in this easier contest after resuming with an eye-catching third over 1250m at Canterbury on November 15. Since fitted with a recent 1000m trial placing and no excuses today. LIGHTLY SPARKLED (13) two runs back have been full of merit and a win looks imminent. Sat on the fast tempo when second over 900m at Newcastle on December 1. Spriggs sticks and looks one of the leading players. MAJORCA SUNSET (5) another from the Baker yard resuming. Stuck on bravely at debut when second at Hawkesbury over 1100m on July 21. Fitted with two good trials and sure to be thereabouts. POMBIA (9) has impressed in all three runs and strips fitter after resuming with a gritty third over 1000m at Wyong on November 9. Kept fresh and the claim will help her cause. The chances don't end there.
SELECTIONS: Point And Shoot to win.
BENDIGO: RACE 4 @ 12:45 PM
WIREWALKER (7) didn't appreciate the heavy going at Kilmore last time in what was a strong maiden, the second horse having won easily at Caulfield Heath on Thursday. The fresh run was good and he should be bouncing back here. GUNBOAT (8) started $41 at Geelong on debut but wasn't beaten all that far and the rise in trip should suit. He can improve. COURTING EMILY (1) is worth watching the market on debut.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Wirewalker.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 2:30 PM
The well-related ZINOTAR (7) (half to G1 winner Music Magnate) has been right there in both starts this campaign and strikes a very winnable contest here. Has placed around this circuit and will strip fitter third-up from the spell. Rates the testing material. EIGHT CYLINDERS (3) also hails from a handy family (full to G3 winner and G2 placed Cylinder Beach) and has placed over this course and distance. Will be rock-hard fit for this and can make his presence felt with any luck from the outside draw. JOHNTIALJO (9) rounds out the selections in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: Zinotar to shed the maiden tag.
GERALDTON: RACE 7 @ 8:00 PM
OREGON HIKER (1) was quickly back on track beaten a nose at Northam in a CL5 and wasn't too far away at Bunbury following in the same grade. He maps well and is suited in a 58. Has an in-form hoop engaged and will take plenty of beating. JUSTHANDY (9) won here this grade but has been plain the two since. He's been freshened and Faithfull in a positive jockey switch. A much better effort is likely. ENTICING (5) resumes for a new barn and has been racing in stronger provincial and metro company. Usually needs a run or two but he has plenty of ability and may be presented more forward this time around. FIRST CONTACT (8) resumes and goes well at this track/trip. She's also worth a betting watch.
SELECTIONS: Backing Oregon Hiker.
HOBART: RACE 4 @ 2:15 PM
MATEUS (2) has been beaten a whisker both starts this preparation and the step-up to the mile looks ideal. Draws awkwardly again but keeps the 3kg claim and he can finish over the top. ELLA MAY (12) was much improved in the same race. Newitt is likely to push forward again and the longer trip shouldn't be an issue. A gap then to MILES 'N' MILES (3) is up to this at best but has been plain in CL1s his last two. Just missed here before those so has the ability. Keeps the 3kg claim in easier grade and look for him late. MISS PRIVATE (9) has had plenty of chances but is going well enough to fill a minor slot.
SELECTIONS: Leaning to Mateus.
