Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 10.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Dubbo, Gosford, Gatton and Northam.
DUBBO: RACE 4 @ 2:20 PM
DUROVA (6) resumes and has switched from one of the nation's premier stables. She's raced well in much stronger contests and has won fresh and over this distance. Cahill's booking is a strong push for her chances and on song she'll have them covered. MIDNIGHT DREAM (4) peaks and seeks the hat-trick off a 66 win here. He gives away starts which makes his efforts all the more impressive. He'll be in the finish with average luck. ZENTI (5) is a leader who resumed further improved in a Tamworth 66 over this distance but has disappointed the two since over longer sprints. Likely has excuses the latest and he gets plenty of weight relief. Comes back to 1000m and expect him to be a player. CASTLEBAR ROAD (2) has been freshened since his narrow defeat here in better class and has been kept up to the mark with a Bathurst trial win. Hard fit now and the 3kg claim brings him into it.
SELECTIONS: Durova if the betting suggests stable confidence.

GOSFORD: RACE 2 @ 12:45 PM
UP AND UNDER (4) brings a superior set of figures here in a much weaker contest. Nailed late with the 60.5kg when a narrow third to Ant over 2000m at Kembla Grange. That form has since been franked after Ant went under in a tight finish at Flemington on Saturday. TWILIGHT ELEGANCE (8) lightly raced staying filly with the upside to play a leading role here. Took good ground off them late from last on the turn when third over today's journey at Hawkesbury. Claim helps and she looks the main danger. ANDERSON BRIDGE (1) frustrating gelding who maps well for this. Motored late when a gritty third over 1900m at Canterbury in BM72 class. Can race closer here and give a ton of cheek. LENNOX (3) came out fast and was found wanting inside the final 250m when fifth over 1900m at Canterbury. Near his top and finds a weaker contest.
SELECTIONS: Up And Under to stamp his class.
GATTON: RACE 4 @ 2:42 PM
The well-related FOR BETTER (4) (full to G1 winner Port Lockroy) shed the maiden tag last time out and will have derived a stack of confidence from that breakthrough victory. Can go back-to-back from the favourable draw. HEROIC BEACH (2) is another to break the maiden status at the latest effort and winning rider Lenton sticks. Top-three credentials on that effort. HEAVENLY LOVE (1) got the job done over this track and trip at the latest outing and is drawn to get a gun run from the inside alley. Include in calculations. LUCKY NEKO (9) hails from an astute barn and gets 2kg off with the claim. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing For Better.
NORTHAM: RACE 2 @ 3:25 PM
ANKAREEDA (9) came off a Lark Hill trial win and was narrowly beaten first up here as favourite. Maps well and keeps the gun jockey. Strips fitter briefly freshened and is likely to have them covered. DIAMONDS'N'RUBIES (8) has been narrowly beaten here at both starts this preparation, bet a short-priced favourite in both. Has an inside gate today and will be further improved. She shapes the danger. MAJESTIC PRINCESS (7) resumed here and was cruelled by a wide barrier. She brought strong form to that and the longer sprint should suit. Chris Parnham sticking aboard is a positive and the mare has claims. GALILEA (5) resumes and owns a Lark Hill trial. She can come back better and may be the best of the remainder.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Ankareeda.
