Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 14.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Scone, Pakenham and Mount Isa.
SCONE: RACE 4 @ 2:10 PM
ZELESTIAL (2) exciting Zoustar mare who keeps raising the bar in her three Australian starts. Heavily supported at latest when stalking the speed to get up in a tight finish over 1415m at Coffs Harbour. Gets a similar set up for this and will relish the mile from the inside draw. NOTABADONE (7) forced to go back from the wide gate and was a total forgive when a plugging ninth over 1600m at Tamworth. Finally drawn a good barrier with the claim and has solid top three claims. POP QUIZ (4) third run in for the new stable when running on late to run sixth over 1600m at Coonamble. Change of rider today and capable of bouncing back. BIG SHORT (1) slow into stride when jumping in class with a dismal tenth over 1400m at Tamworth. Proven at the mile and stays in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Zelestial to show her class.

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 1 @ 1:00 PM
ZOUSOUTH (6) looks the one to beat in the opener. His debut here over 1100m as good, showing early speed before just running out of gas late to be beaten a length. Better for that experience and back to 1000m should really suit. Drawn the inside, he can hold the front and prove too quick. SHE'S MY EX (9) is a filly by Exceedance on debut for the Price & Kent Jnr yard. She's won a jumpout leading in and Craig Williams has been booked to ride from a good draw. Profiles well. IMAGINATE (2) is lightly raced and can improve fof an even return effort at Ballarat. HEAD CAPITALIST (7) is a Capitalist filly on debut who can run well.
SELECTIONS: Zousouth to win.
MT ISA: RACE 7 @ 4:20 PM
DANCE WIZZARD (1) was an odds-on favourite when last racing and while second was some way back. Suspect getting back to the short course is what he requires. Should be right in the reckoning most of the way. WINDORAH (7) will be another who charges for the front. She is drawn poorly but hard to knock how she was going before a spell and won the only time she raced here. CURRY LEGEND (9) has not fired in two goes at Mount Isa but generally the form is okay so is worth another chance. ZAVABOOM (3) switches from NSW and resumes for a new yard. Both wins have come over this distance when fresh so should be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: Dance Wizzard to lift again.
