Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 15.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Newcastle, Warren, Ballarat and Cairns.
NEWCASTLE: RACE 2 @ 12:50 PM
HILLIER (9) nice colt who resumes after he raced in Group company in his first prep. Fitted with the two solid trials and looks ready to get off the mark from the good gate. HARRY'S EVIDENCE (4) kept fresh for this after pulling up with cardiac arrhythmia when a disappointing last over 1150m at Randwick Kensington on June 11. Since fitted with a searching 1020m tick over trial win. Tongue tie goes on and assess on his solid debut performance. SUNBURNT COUNTRY (10) bumped into Vinrock and Next Jen in his first prep and returns a much stronger colt. Fitted with the two trials and the blinkers go on. CELLARMASTER (6) Bivouac gelding out of Moet Belle on debut for the O'Shea and Charlton yard. Has shown ability in his last two trials and look for him late.
SELECTIONS: Hillier is set to shed his maiden status.

WARREN: RACE 3 @ 1:45 PM
MISS KARIS (5) has found the line with purpose to get up for minor placings in two runs since a two-month let-up, the latest over 950m at Cowra. Has had plenty of chances but this is a shallow affair and she should be too good. MERE MORTAL (1) ran a better race last time when fresh from a seven-week break for a new stable, battling on okay for fourth over 1100m at Narromine. Will take a lot from that outing and with a soft run from the inside draw is a definite contender. MISS RAPIDE (6) gets a pass mark for her midfield finish on debut over 800m at Narromine recently. Should appreciate the extra furlong and is a likely improver. ROCK ALL NIGHT (8) resumes for new trainer Connie Greig. Opened the maiden campaign with a placing at Wyong. In the mix if she finds that form. MY KIND OF GIRL (7) found the line well first-up at Cowra - one to watch for late in the piece.
SELECTIONS: Miss Karis to win.
BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 6 @ 3:30 PM
A good contest. IN LOVE (6) skipped over from South Australia and led when winning a 58 easily at this track. Came back and was claimed late, beaten 1.2L under 59kgs in the same grade. Carries 3kgs less today and she's going to take pegging back. SISTINE TUNNEL (5) resumes and is proven fresh. She maps well and has looked sharp at the jumpouts. A bold run is on the cards. AQUEDUCT (4) resumes and won his Maiden comfortably here first up as expected. Keeps John Allen and she has more to offer. The McEvoy yard flies at the track. PRIDE OF SULLIVAN (2) needed the outing first up and races on the all-weather for the first time. She has pieces of form that would see her in the finish, and it won't surprise to see quick improvement.
SELECTIONS: Going with In Love.
CAIRNS: RACE 2 @ 1:34 PM
One for the babies. GOLD CLASSIC (1) didn't measure up in a rich Townsville maiden last time out but the form prior was good enough for a race like this. Is yet to miss a quinella spot in four attempts over this sprint trip and a return to form looks on the cards. WHISKEY RIVER (2) is having his first run for the new stable but showed enough in his first preparation to suggest he'd be competitive in this contest. Looms as the main danger. RAFF VADER (3) broke the maiden status before the spell and will have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Winning hoop Wiggins reunites and has definite top-three aspirations. NOOSHBAHOOSH (5) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome last time out but go on the strong win over this course and distance on debut. Worth another chance. TARONG (6) next in line while fresh.
SELECTIONS: Gold Classic to bounce back.
