Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 28.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Kempsey, Pakenham and Toowoomba.
KEMPSEY: RACE 1 @ 12:20 PM
TURNING CIRCLE (4) twelve-start maiden who finds her race today. Speared across from the wide gate when a fighting third over 1600m at Newcastle. Gets a much better run today and looks too good for these. SHOOT'EM UP (1) comes here in peak condition after having mixed luck on the provincial tracks. Senior rider goes on and assess on his solid third at Gosford two back. FIREUP (2) winkers go on for this after improving in the heavy conditions with a game third over 1400m at Tamworth. Can roll forward and give a ton of cheek. SMOKEY SAINT (10) sharp rise in trip on the quick backup when a gritty on pace second over 1512m at this track. Grisedale sticks and sure to be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: Turning Circle to break through.

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM
LADY ELSA (9) looks one to follow. Made debut with a middle finish in far richer grade then spelled again. Returned over 1400m here and charged home into second, beaten just a neck. Extra trip a plus and looks tough to stop. CLENCH (2) has two runs under the belt this time in and is close to breaking through. Came home well to just miss latest and can go one better. TASTE OF WINE (11) is another close to a maiden success. Placed last time over the mile when coming home hard and should be working into the finish again. BROTHER QUICKIE (1) ran on into fourth latest in the same race as Clench. Has been thereabouts and given the right run can feature again. PHOENICIAN (5) was responsible for a solid effort last time out when third at this track over 1600m, beaten a head. Nice alley and should run well.
SELECTIONS: Follow in on Lady Elsa.
TOOWOOMBA: RACE 7 @ 4:20 PM
Tough finish to a tricky card. SOMETHIN IN ORANGE (5) made headway from midfield at latest showing to finish second and just his second race start. Looks about ready to peak now, and a breakthrough win would be the reward. NOT MY PROBLEM (9) was pretty well held last time, but looks far better placed back to this trip and has some ratings from earlier this preparation that put her right in the frame today. CUT DIAMONDS (6) ran on to finish 6 len off resuming, and should improve a fair way today. Not the roughest. STELLA SIMONE (7) looks to have claims resuming while BUSH WOOKIE (1) has a third career run today and should improve again, which would give him some hope.
SELECTIONS: Keen to be with Somethin In Orange in the last.
