Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 2.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Flemington and Eagle Farm.
ROSEHILL: RACE 3 @ 12:35 PM
Unbeaten mare WITHOUT PARALLEL (5) returned from a 21-week spell at Eagle Farm a fortnight ago and just did enough after leading from the outset. Should cope with the prevailing conditions and she looks nicely in after Roper's claim. Big chance to keep the record intact. MARTINI MUMMA (3) is a smart mare who showed a glimpse of form last time out, making up good ground to grab third over this course and distance. Could be the danger with winkers going on for the first time. Lightly raced four-year-old WINNING EMOTIONS (17) shouldered 58kgs to win a Class 1 over 1000m at Warren recently. Drops to the limit today and should be ready for a return to 1200m. Must be respected. KING TAURUS (12) won by panels on the Canberra Acton Friday week ago at the fourth run of the campaign. Different story this time but the authority of that win is hard to ignore. XANADU MISS (16) is going well on the country/provincial circuit and doesn't mind it heavy so with the light weight she is on the radar.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Without Parallel.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 3 @ 1:25 PM
DE BERGERAC (6) clearly on top. He's racing in fine form this time in, a smart winner fresh before bumping into the talented La Fracas in two runs since. He drops a couple of grades for this, draws well out wider and finds a fairly winnable race. EPIC PROPORTIONS (3) dropped back to midweek grade last start, was heavily supported and got the job done comfortably at Randwick Kensington. He's consistent and puts himself on speed, the last 50m may be touch and go. THE SHAPER (8) dropped back to this trip at Sandown Lakeside last start and won very well with the light weight. He wants a strongly run race and should get it. CAPPER THIRTYNINE (2) resumes. He can sprint well fresh and has the ability. Watch betting.
SELECTIONS: De Bergerac to win.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 2:28 PM
It's hard to knock the form of TUFF TU MUS (1) who has strung six wins together on the bounce and is racing with a lot of confidence. Maps to get the run of the race from gate three and can continue the picket fence here. ZAPHOD (3) loves this nine-furlong journey with three wins and four placings from nine attempts and rarely puts in a poor one. Has to be included. CAPTAIN FENKEL (9) has shown improvement at the past couple and may earn some minor money. THE RIGHT WAY (6) was in good order before being outclassed in the Caloundra Cup last month. Back in grade suits him today and he's likely to be in the finish after the 3kg claim of Vitler.
SELECTIONS: Tuff Tu Mus to keep the ball rolling.
