Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 25.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Scone and Pakenham Synthetic.
SCONE: RACE 3 @ 2:10 PM
BLUE KINGDOM (1) has shown promising signs in his first two starts. The step up in trip looks suitable, and with natural progression he looms as the one they all have to beat. FANTASTIC BEAST (4) is far more experienced and his best efforts suggest he is capable of featuring in this company. Dropping back to the mile suits. REDALUCA GIRL (14) has been close without quite breaking through of late, including a solid fourth at Wyong over this trip last start. No tougher this time, so she's right in the mix off a quick freshen. PATHELIA (11) was below her best at Muswellbrook last time, finishing midfield, but had posted consecutive placings prior to that and can bounce back if she finds a clear run late. Don't underestimate. STAR OF KONGO (15) has run well over this journey and could sneak into the frame again if things go his way.
SELECTIONS: Blue Kingdom to win.

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 5 @ 4:00 PM
SHAALUTE (1) won at the Ballarat synthetic despite a wide trip throughout the race, grinding down the leader to win impressively. He'll be better for having that run over 1400m and will have a far softer map in this race, you'd have thought. DEMIQUAVER (10) is third up in this contest after two decent runs. With Ben Allen in the saddle from a good barrier, she's sure to return to her best form in this race. LITTLE BIGHORN (3) might be better suited to rising in distance to 1400m fourth up. He has the ratings to win this and is a major player. SHE SMASHES (6) could be ready to improve out to this distance third up.
SELECTIONS: Shaalute to win
