Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 31.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Moree, Wyong, Seymour, Casterton, Warwick, Carnarvon, Naracoorte and Hobart.
MOREE: RACE 3 @ 2:15 PM
SETHNIQUE (2) ran a very handy race at first start for new stable. Fitter for it and the extra 200m looks right in his favour. Drawn to get every chance to make a big impact. ZOU DE LAGOS (4) is a big watch at his first run for the new yard after four starts in Victoria. Largely wasn't disgraced in them and any support might be significant. SPEED OF GOLD (3) made some ground over the short trip when runner-up at Scone first-up. Fitter for it and out sharply in distance but did run a couple of handy races at the trip last time in. Keep in mind. BOLE LE (1) is a watch first-up off a trial win and HEARTFELT AWARD (9) next best.
SELECTIONS: Sethnique to win.

WYONG: RACE 3 @ 2:05 PM
DREAM SIDE (8) is a progressive filly resuming after finishing a close second to Memo over 1200m in the G3 Magic Night at Rosehill last March. Returns with one trial and expected to see her race closer from the low draw. Goes close. TRANSGRESS (5) three-year-old colt by I Am Invincible out of the handy mare Overstep. Given plenty of time to develop and his last three trials have been solid. Worthy contender from the draw. LISTEN SWEETHEART (11) resumes after jumping slowly on debut when ninth in the LR Calaway Gal over 1200m at Eagle Farm. Improver. MILITARY LEGEND (12) showed enough on debut at Canterbury around some handy types and should be better for that effort. Worth including.
SELECTIONS: Dream Side to assert her class.
SEYMOUR: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM
CROSSOVERKID (5) brings two narrow defeats this preparation, with the latest here over a mile. He's finished hard from the back in both and has placed 2/2 over this longer trip. He's further improved and can finish over the top. MORE TORQUE (3) jumped sharply to 2200m at Bairnsdale and was beaten 1L. Maps better today and Ben Allen remains in the saddle. He can keep improving. PIPLUP (10) has been racing in stronger company and will be much more competitive than the form line suggests. Keep onside. THINK I'M IRISH (9) hasn't been far away her past couple and boasts a strong third-up record. Showed he handles the conditions two back and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Going with Crossoverkid.
CASTERTON: RACE 2 @ 11:01 AM
JOTOPELI (2) was third last start at Mount Gambier, where he closed into third place. He will be suited by the rise in distance to 1400m and he's proven the wet conditions aren't a deterrent. Can play a leading role third-up and ready to strike. BISHOP'S CHOICE (1) finished strongly to place fourth at Warrnambool last start after settling eleventh. Having drawn awkwardly again, he may settle too far back again. He's a talented runner nonetheless and should be right in the finish. SLAYRIDER (5) disappointed first-up when overracing and should be better for that effort. Expecting improvement now. STREAMELOT (11) was good on debut over what looks an unsuitable trip and the rise in distance is a big tick.
SELECTIONS: Backing Jotopeli.
WARWICK: RACE 3 @ 10:49 AM
LADY ZAYDI (7) loves this six-furlong journey with a win and two placings from just three attempts and it's hard to knock mores in form. Sure to be right there when the whips are cracking. SUJEED (5) has filled the frame at the past couple of efforts and looks to be building up to another victory. Has to be included. Former Victorian FLYING CELICA (8) is having her first run for the new stable but should find this easier than what she faced down south. Keep very safe. I STOLE IT (4) is one from one over this course and distance and will strip fitter second-up from the break. Definite top-three prospects. The well-related NEW HAMPSHIRE (1) (half to G1 winner Levendi) best of the rest with the 3kg claim.
SELECTIONS: Backing Lady Zaydi.
CARNARVON: RACE 5 @ 6:00 PM
JIDDO (7) settled back in the field last start but rounded up his rivals with ease, scoring by 2.9L in good fashion at this track and trip. He'll need some luck from the barrier, but he was simply too good over this track and trip last start as favourite and he can go on with the job. STAY WEALTHY (2) hasn't been far away in recent efforts, tiring when setting the tempo last start over the mile here. The 4kg claim comes in handy and the slight rise in trip looks right up his alley. Can land midfield this time and put his best foot forward. WAR CLASS (6) is looking for the three-peat today following a 0.6L win over the mile here a fortnight ago. Hard to knock his recent form and he gets in light at the weights again. There's plenty to like about him. WHO'S YOUR MAMA (3) is better than he showed last start at this track and can improve. TROOPER PHOENIX (12) is next best.
SELECTIONS: Jiddo goes on top.
NARACOORTE: RACE 3 @ 2:28 PM
UNPLANNED REVOLT (4) showed good improvement second-up when delivering as favourite to score his maiden win. Lightly raced for his age and still with upside, he looks well placed to make it two on the bounce. WILD INFERENCE (6) was below his best last start but his run prior in town was encouraging. Can bounce back sharply. NORMIE NO SHOW (3) impressed breaking his maiden last time and while this is tougher, he can measure up with natural improvement. JOHNNY CIGAR (1) doesn't win often but strips fitter now third-up and can show more than his latest effort. RHINESTONE RORY (8) continues to find one better but has figures that see him competitive. Capable of featuring if he brings his best.
SELECTIONS: Unplanned Revolt to win.
HOBART: RACE 8 @ 5:05 PM
MISS DE LUNE (6) is busting to win again and there was only a whisker the latest in a blanket finish as favourite. He will ride the speed on a 7-day return and the shorter sprint is likely to suit. MATERIAL MADAM (3) won first up and then didn't finish it off following. He will be better for that and won his only third-up outing. A bounce is likely. KAKIA (1) resumes owning a comfortable trial win. He has the ability and may be more forward this time around. AMANT FRANCAIS (2) resumes and has placed fresh. He races forward and will be around the mark in well with the 2kg claim. GEEGEE STRAWBERRY (7) tries hard and won't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Backing Miss De Lune.
