Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 04.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Coffs Harbour, Moe, Mackay and Northam.
COFFS HARBOUR: RACE 7 @ 4:25 PM
MONTE MAXIMUS (6) racing in a real purple patch of late with the two wins from his last three runs. Dropped back in class when rounding them up effortlessly over 1410m at Grafton in C3 grade. Trained on the track and will be doing his best work late back to the 1212m. RUN RORY RUN (2) won well two back before heading to town with a battling eighth to Kerguelen over 1200m at Randwick in a BM78. Winning rider hops back aboard in a suitable race. GOBBLED (3) tough gelding with a decent set of figures over this course and distance. Appreciated the extra ground when a nice third over 1412m at Taree. Drops in weight with the claim and has sound winning prospects. OUTAKANDY (7) covered ground in the heavy (10) going when a plugging fourth over 1250m at Newcastle. Comes out of a decent race and not to be overlooked.
SELECTIONS: Monte Maximus can finish over the top of them.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Coffs Harbour Computer Card.
MOE: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
A DIVA (1) was sharp at the jumpouts and then blitzed the Sale Maidens by 3L on debut over 1400m. Jumped a hot favourite and the step up to the mile is ideal. Keeps a leading hoop and the promising mare can go on with the job. DISTURBIA (3) rates up to this at best and third-up she'll find this grade much more to her liking. She's proven in that state and draws low with the blinkers applied again. Improvement is likely. VEGAS ON FIRE (7) led and just missed in a 58 at Seymour on a heavy track. She'll get conditions to suit and has a 2kg claimer aboard today and is on a quick back-up. LA BELLE GRANDE (4) comes back to the turf and she should be ready to show more. She's capable of using the rail and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing A Diva to win.
MACKAY: RACE 6 @ 4:10 PM
THISLAND IS MYLAND (3) loves it here around the Mackay circuit with two wins and two seconds from just six spins and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Cherry-ripe now fourth-up from the break and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. JEMELDI (1) wasn't disgraced in the Cairns Lightning last time out and will find this task a stack easier. Is a three-time winner over this distance range and is sure to take plenty of stopping. CAPTAIN FOX (2) saves his best form for this track and trip and will be high on confidence following that last-start victory. Keep very safe. FLYING SHAMUS (5) is better than the last couple of efforts suggest and a bounce back to form would not surprise. KEYBOARD (6) is usually thereabouts and is a must for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Thisland Is Myland to salute.
NORTHAM: RACE 4 @ 5:12 PM
PRODUCTIVE (2) missed a whisker at Belmont first-up coming hard from back in the field. He started odds on at Bunbury (all-weather) following and found Disco Kids much too good. CJP is reunited and he can rates to be winning with the extra fitness and back on turf. LEAFICE (10) made good improvement finding a place on the all-weather. Has the inside gate and Faithful aboard and she's a chance sitting at the bottom of the handicap. AUTHORATIVE (1) is running out of chances but he presents at peak fitness and has been within range his last two. The blinkers come off and he can't be ruled out. KENTUCKY DRIVE (9) led and was beaten just 1.3L on the all-weather. Raced favourite in that and will give a sight.
SELECTIONS: Backing Productive to win.
