Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Goulburn, Tuncurry, Geelong, Mackay and Bordertown.

GOULBURN: RACE 4 @ 2:45 PM

Local SPREAD THE LOVE (5) trialled well and then was too good for the Maidens here on debut, backed off the map. Draws handier today and stripping fitter the promising gelding can go right on with the job. MISSILE DEFENCE (1) was quickly back on track beaten less than 2L at Gundagai racing handy. His effort three back at Wagga was even better and he will get every chance with the 1.5kg claim and inside barrier. LUNA ANGEL (7) missed 1.4L at Wellington but her 1L defeat here prior in a CL1 is the effort that stands out. Gets in well with the 2kg allowance and can also make the finish. APPARATE (6) wasn't too far away in stronger at Canberra after settling last. That rates well enough and she's on a quick backup. May have turned the corner.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Spread The Love.

TUNCURRY: RACE 4 @ 2:24 PM

ARAMBYS (9) has closed well and been beaten narrowly at his last two appearances, both in Class 1 races over today's trip at Tamworth. This looks a level below that so he is a tremendous chance to grab a well-deserved win. Promising mare TROIS (11) raced handy and boxed on well for second last time out over 1200m at Moree. Gets to seven furlongs for the first time which looks a nice option. Obvious threat. JASON DARREN (1) has led for the judge but been easily accounted for in his two runs this prep, each time over 1200m. Gets to his pet distance today so expect him to prove tough to reel in. APACHE JACK (12) is racing well and should enjoy a bit of give in the track. SMART JAZZ (2) has been about the mark of late at the provincials and on a seven-day back-up comes right into calculations.
SELECTIONS: Open race but Arambys looks a nice bet.

GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM

BRING FORTH (2) was a dominant last start winner stepping up to this trip for the first time at Moe, sitting on speed and coming right away to score by 4.5 lengths. He's always promised a fair bit but clearly looks to have relished getting over a trip and he can repeat the dose again. The danger is clearly AUTUMNHEAT (4) who was far too good breaking his maiden at prohibitive odds last start at Bendigo, scoring by 2.75 lengths. Drawn well and can measure up again. GOLDEN HIPS (6) is racing well without winning, dropping 4kg off a last start second at Seymour. He maps well and can figure. PERFETTO (5) broke through for a smart win at Bendigo last time out when rising to this trip for the first time. She can go on with it. FERAGO (1) has a big weight and a 4kg claimer but has form in better grades than this.
SELECTIONS: Bring Forth to win.

MACKAY: RACE 4 @ 3:06 PM

KATHY'S BEAU (2) has been racing consistently of late, culminating in a solid Rocky win over this distance range last time out. Has a win and a second from three starts here and gets some weight relief with the 2kg claim. Plenty to like about his prospects. GO GETABOY (1) has a handy record over this trip with five wins and five placings from 13 attempts. Maps well from gate two and can give this a mighty shake. MEDIA EMPIRE (3) returned to the winners' stall at the latest outing and will take some confidence from that overdue victory. Top-three aspirations. FLYING SHAMUS (4) is better than recent efforts suggest and can improve sharply without surprising. SVINDAL (6) loves this course and distance with three wins and three placings from just seven starts. Cannot be ignored.
SELECTIONS: Leaning towards Kathy's Beau.

BORDERTOWN: RACE 3 @ 2:05 PM

PETIT EAGLE (10) threatened twice in stronger Maidens before being well supported in a CL1 in town over this distance but she left herself with too much to do. She'll give away a start but is much better suited in this grade. On a 9-day return and rated the one they have to beat. CAUSEWELUVADELAIDE (3) debuts and looked sharp in a recent Murray Bridge trial. Maps for the run of the race and a bold run is on the cards. FLAMING EYES (5) will be better for her two starts this preparation in stronger Maidens. The gate is awkward but she has more to give and can improve into the finish. STRAZZ (12) draws low with a 1.5kg claim and can build on her improved run last time.
SELECTIONS: With Petit Eagle.
