Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Horsham, Nowra, Lismore,
Sunshine Coast, Halidon, Kalgoorlie and Moe.

HORSHAM: RACE 5 @ 4:00 PM

It's D-Day for TARPAULIN (2) who hasn't fired this time in having promised plenty as a younger horse. The drop back to 955m at Moonee Valley last time brought him unstuck, not the first horse to struggle at that specialist distance. Midfield in a far stronger race at Flemington prior has him the one to beat. EDGES DIAMOND (4) is the one with upside, winning narrowly first up at Geelong before folding late as a $3.20 chance at Bendigo. Can bounce back quickly. BINE (3) struggled in a strong BM70 at Moonee Valley last time behind some very speedy types. The fresh run behind Trembles is good form for this. THE WIZARD KING (6) is going okay and can figure on an each way basis while FLUX (7) was better last time and has minor claims.
SELECTIONS: Tarpaulin to win.

NOWRA: RACE 4 @ 3:36 PM

COOL RUPERT (9) knuckled down strongly to get within a head of the winner in third last start at Kembla Grange, a good follow up from his promising debut effort. Peaking now and is the one to beat. ALNAIR (10) only warmed to his task late on debut at Newcastle. The subsequent form has been solid. She will relish the added trip and gets the chance to take much closer order under Collett from the better draw. Big danger. DANCING MAN (2) has been thereabouts in his three runs back and should be hitting his straps now. Might just need some luck from the wide alley. THE EYES HAVE IT (7) could only manage to finish fifth at her latest appearance over 1200m at Moruya after she got a long way back in the run. Finds a more suitable assignment this time and can improve. MOZZONI (11) hails from a smart juvenile stable and is sure to have come on from her debut effort. Don't dismiss completely.
SELECTIONS: Cool Rupert to win.

LISMORE: RACE 4 @ 3:50 PM

The lightly raced INSTA WORTHY (1) is back from a 23-week spell. Opened last prep well enough then failed at Ipswich and was turned out. Now a gelding and the Dunn stable pop the blinkers on. Easy recent trial winner who looks set to realise his potential this time in work. BEEARETEE (5) had a change of tactics and went to the front last start over this trip at Grafton and was only overhauled close to the line. Gets a few significant gear changes and at just the third run of the prep could prove hard to beat. MISS MIDAS TOUCH (2) was poorly away but rallied late to be beaten just over a length when resuming at Grafton recently. Might switch on a little better today with the blinkers applied. Right in contention. COPENHAGEN CAT (6) was brave in defeat after leading at Grafton last time. Has had plenty of chances but worth some thought based on that latest effort. HIGHWIRE GIRL (7) did a good job at massive odds on debut last start - cannot be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Insta Worthy.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 5 @ 4:05 PM

The penny has dropped for NATIONAL INTEREST (3) who has strung back-to-back wins together this campaign and is racing with a lot of confidence. Fitter third up and won't have to spot the leaders much of a start if he settles back in a small eight horse field. Can easily bring up the hat-trick. HURRICANE LU (11) saluted around this circuit when facing the starter for the first time and winning rider Brooker sticks. Sure to play a major role again. BROOKLYN DAISY (8) boasts a win at this track and will strip fitter third-up from the break. Has been a while since that win however has placed in five of seven runs since. Very much knocking on the door. GAGNANTE ENCHERE (9) has been thereabouts in her past few since dropping back from city level. Consider.
SELECTIONS: Backing National Interest.

HALIDON: RACE 5 @ 4:50 PM

THINK TANK (1) is building to a win and put the writing on the wall last time when runner-up at the provincials latest, narrowly beaten. Peaks now and gets chance. EASY BEAST (2) was solid two back then raced on speed but outclassed last time in tougher. Well placed this company and should be a big improver. AMBER NOOK (3) has been mixing form but is suited here and has the ability. Wide draw but trip suits. GREATESTOFEASE (7) was well backed at Manangatang last weekend and charged home to score a big win. Fit and in form and can go close again. HIT THE SLOPES (5) is suited by the extra trip and can do much better.
SELECTIONS: Think Tank should go close.

KALGOORLIE: RACE 1 @ 5:00 PM

LAVISH CHARM (1) has won both starts this preparation easily from the front and the 3kg claim takes care of the weight rise. He's promising and fitter again should have these well covered. BLITZEM BABE (5) found the company a bit rich last time but has been threatening a win the three prior. Faithful replaces the 3kg apprentice and she can make the finish. CALL TIME (6) comes out of the same race and didn't get warm after settling last from the 11 gate. The two runs prior read well enough and he maps well today with a 3kg claimer engaged. MARGOT'S BULLSEYE (7) resumes and can use the inside barrier. Usually needs a run but he has shown enough to keep onside. THATSTHEWAYILIKEIT (3) is sure to show more second-up.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Lavish Charm.

MOE: RACE 7 @ 5:20 PM

MALDINI (7) won a jumpout and resumed with a narrow defeat at Seymour 38 days ago. He's been gelded since and is further improved. He's sure to keep improving for the smart yard and this is winnable. MONT SAINT MICHEL (8) won this grade easily at Bairnsdale, quickly back on track. Carries more weight but has the inside gate and should go close. SOCIAL CONSCIENCE (2) also hits this at peak fitness and is going well enough to feature. Newitt sticks and he's back in grade. BEDTIME ANGEL (12) resumes. Broke her maiden last campaign which returned mixed results through four starts. Two trials in readiness for this have been encouraging.
SELECTIONS: Backing Maldini.
