Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 22.

Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Warwick Farm, Geelong, Eagle Farm, Strathalbyn and Belmon.

WARWICK FARM: RACE 3 @ 4:35 PM

THE REPLICANT (3) was hemmed in on the rails last start and never saw clear running in a total forgive run over this distance at the Kensington track. Drove hard late to just miss over 1400m here the run prior. Finds a mediocre race today and if his fortunes change a well-deserved win looks on the cards. FRONTEX (2) got clear when the bird had flow at this track last time out, clocking-in fourth over the mile. Back in trip but is coming off a four-week break with blinkers on so should be sharp enough to run a big race. BELIEVE IN ANGELS (6) found the line well in a similar race at the Kenso a fortnight ago. Goes well here so must be respected. BARTOLF (1) with McDonald aboard comes under notice. Racing well, filling a minor placing at Rosehill last time off a 33-day break. Sure to be there at the business end. CLIMB THE LADDER (4) has been going okay in Victoria and that form should stack up.
SELECTIONS: Keen on The Replicant.

GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM

Onto the Geelong Classic where we see some Victoria Derby hopefuls. AZAZEL (4) is the one that looks most suited getting to a trip. He was there to be beaten on debut but just kept grinding away before a similar run when 4th in the Super Impose at Flemington, boxing on for a narrow defeat. Drawn well, he'll land in the first few and can stake his claim for the classic. Very wary of MATSUDA (3) who was dominant in fast time at Sale, scoring by five lengths. Forgive his run two back in the Derby Preview at Flemington when copping interference. HIGHVOL (1) can improve up in trip. The run in the G2 Stutt Stakes was good for a horse on a Derby path, then he just had no hope drawing wide in the Caulfield Guineas. DON'T DOUBT DARE (16) could be sharp improver out of a farcically run debut in the Oaks Preview.
SELECTIONS: Backing Azazel & Matsuda.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 4:53 PM

Tricky. PROMISCUOUS GIRL (11) resumed further improved with a 58 win at the Sunshine Coast and then stepped up to a mile at Doomben beaten less than 2L. Uses the rail and will strip fitter again. Hard to peg back at each way odds. PHAROAH'S PROPHECY (5) brings strong form from Doomben where he's raced exclusively. He's free running and tackles the mile/track for the first time from a handy gate. Some trust is required but he's in a smart stable and can't be taken lightly. PUFF 'N' HARRY (9) won a Doomben Maiden off a 241-day break and then was in the market at Doomben but settled back and had too much to do. The step up to the mile should suit this fellow and he has a low gate today and the blinkers on for the first time. He has plenty of scope for improvement. LAVONI (10) is racing well and has placed 2/2 over a mile. Comes back in grade and can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Promiscuous Girl each way.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 4 @ 3:20 PM

SUIT OF WANDS (5) is a maiden but he has more upside than most of his rivals here. The untapped 4YO has been back to the trials since chasing a smart one in town last starts. This is much easier, he's drawn well with Todd Pannell in the saddle and he can win. SANDPIPER (2) went close to making it three wins in a row last start. She is racing in career-best form and will be within striking distance. She can definitely win again. SPEC RAIDER (3) returns to her favourite track and distance and is another that will be hard to beat if the luck goes her way. BUSH INFERENCE (6) is capable on his day and is one to include in exotics, while CHARTIN (4) boasts a likable on-speed racing style that will give him a sneaky top three chance again.
SELECTIONS: Backing Suit Of Wands to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 8 @ 5:40 PM

RIVA AQUARAMA (3) showed good promise in her debut campaign before a short break with The Pinnacles no doubt front of mind. Her latest trial was solid under Chris Parnham and this looks a handy kick off point from what we've seen from here. Draw is a niggle but she looks a classy customer. ESTA MIRANDO (13) was very impressive on debut at Northam when storming home to win comfortably by 0.7L. Pike remains in the saddle and she's been given plenty of time to get over that run. 1200m looks no issue and there's no reason why she can't go on with the job. SILENT DIVA (9) comes through a good trial recently where she was sneaky good late. Her debut form stacks right up for a race like this and the claim of cooper comes in handy. She can make an impact on resumption. DEFINE BEAUTIFUL (5) hasn't been far away her past few and is worth including. DUBAI'S DAUGHTER (6) just missed at Kalgoorlie last time out and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Riva Aquarama can win the last.
