Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 25.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Moonee Valley, Doomben, Morphettville and Ascot.
RANDWICK: RACE 9 @ 5:15 PM
MANAAL (2) dynamic mare who's gone to a new level this campaign. Shouldered the 58kg when a tenacious winner of the G2 Golden Pendant at Rosehill. Berry sticks from the right draw and hard to see some of these turning the tables. MISS ROUMBINI (3) comes up from Victoria after rocketing late from near last on the turn when an unlucky second over 1400m in the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield. Back in class and maps to get a better run. Leading prospect. FIRESTORM (4) ready to peak third-up but will be giving some of these a big start. Took good ground off Manaal first-up before jumping in grade when ninth in the Alan Brown Stakes at Rosehill over this distance. Will be hoping they overdo it up front. STEFI MAGNETICA (1) normally takes a few runs before she hits her top. Failed to make any real impression when fourth in the G2 Sheraco over 1200m at Rosehill on September 13. Kept fresh and like the way she closed off in her recent 1030m trial. Respect. OH DIAMOND LIL (6) next best.
SELECTIONS: Manaal can continue the winning sequence.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 7 @ 3:35 PM
DESERT LIGHTNING (3) looks a big chance at decent odds. His first two runs this time in were excellent. He hit the front in the G1 Underwood Stakes two back but simply didn't run out 1800m behind the likes of Sir Delius and Buckaroo. Forgiving last time in the G1 Toorak Handicap as top weight when given a poor ride, wide without cover in a fast race. Back to set weights here, up on speed, he'll go close. RISE AT DAWN (4) has been good in two runs back from a spell. Fancy he went too slow in front last time having run much quicker early at Flemington. He's a horse that likes to be rolling and if that's the case, he goes close. GOLDEN PATH (5) is a tricky one to measure. He was poor in the G1 Turnbull Stakes but the G1 Underwood placing (albeit with things to suit) reads well. Back to a mile now is perhaps the niggle. OH TOO GOOD (8) had every favour last time but won well. Takes on the boys now but is a good mare and Lane gets the inside run again.
SELECTIONS: Desert Lightning on top.
DOOMBEN: RACE 2 @ 01:43 PM
THE ENCHANTER (3) is an honest conveyance who is yet to miss the top-five in eight starts to date and will be high on confidence following a last-start victory over this track and trip. Winning rider McMurray sticks in the saddle and again gets the benefit of his 3kg claim. Ticks plenty of boxes. SYNERGY IN MOTION (13) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome at the latest effort but go on the solid win over this course and distance when resuming. Can bounce right back. Former NSW galloper FIRST MISSION (5) is having his first run for the new stable but should find this assignment easier than what he faced down south. May run a race while fresh. ENCUBIERTO (4) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: The Enchanter to go back-to-back.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 7 @ 4:22 PM
Really think PARTY CRASHER (3) can improve sharply on his first-up run and win this. He is a progressive 4-year-old that would've gone close in the Queensland Derby if he hadn't been a late scratching. The step to 1800m looks ideal here and Todd Pannell should give him every opportunity from barrier four. PELEVECCHIO (12) has placed both runs this campaign. She has the ability to win this, but she's becoming a frustrating proposition for punters. Expect her to loom as a winning threat but whether she can go on with the job is a different story. FLAMING NAVY (8) won an easier race at Balaklava last start but he did it in the manner of a horse destined for greater heights. He will roll forward and take some beating. LONGER ROUTE (2) is a likely improver, while SUPER LAD (5) is in career-best form and must be included on the quick back-up.
SELECTIONS: Backing Party Crasher to win.
ASCOT: RACE 9 @ 7:50 PM
The feature of the day sees KING OF LIGHT (2) return after a dominant debut campaign. He was far too good in a 2YO event as a $1.26 chance to end last campaign and his two trials this time in have been super. Looks well above average and can kick off on a winning note. TALKANCO (1) will need some luck from the barrier but she showed her class first-up when winning the Max Simmonds. Up to 1200m looks a big tick off what she showed there and she looks ready to go to another level this campaign. Can build on the fresh victory. ZOURUN RUN (13) gained some followers through the winter months and looks to have returned in good order watching her latest trial. Right down in the weights today with Parnham sticking, giving her a good push for her chances. Not to be discounted. MARDUSA (4) had some fans in the Max Simmonds last start where he was good late. Further and fitter are both ticks. SNITZALATTE (10) looks ready for this trip now and is right in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Going with King Of Light.
