Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Newcastle, Queanbeyan, Wangaratta andIpswich.
BEAUMONT (NEWCASTLE): RACE 2 @ 2:25 PM
HO ALOHA (9) race fitness should see her prove too good for these from the good draw. Cruised across from the wide barrier when a tenacious on pace second over 1200m at Kembla Grange. No excuses today. FEDERAL RESERVE (4) Justify gelding expected to have strengthened over the break. Fitted with the two trials and regular rider sticks. Look for him late. SNOWSLIDE (12) Headwater filly from a Red Ransom mare on debut for the Matthew Smith stable. Much better effort at her second trial and the lugging bit goes on from the good gate. BIFURCATION (7) trialled before racing and then overcame difficulties in running to finish third on debut over 1000m at Hawkesbury. Will take valuable race experience from that outing and is worth consideration here.

QUEANBEYAN: RACE 2 @ 2:10 PM
MAGIC SPEED (4) opened this preparation with an easy win here and then was well supported at Hawkesbury but disappointed at the business end when placed under pressure (vet cleared). Her jockey recommended a tongue tie be applied next start, and that's eventuated. She will be fitter and back to familiar surroundings will prove a tough nut to crack. SOOO CRAZY (2) showed good early muster and fought on beaten just 1L over 1000m at Canberra. He will lead or box seat from an inside gate and can be right in the finish. VIOLET AND BLUE (1) has won her last two in the country. The latest at Orange was a big effort after missing the jump. She led the one prior, and the 3kg claim is handy. Has to be considered as well. OAKEYS CHOICE (7) was within range at Canberra and here last time. Peaks for this and will carry just 52kgs this grade with a 3kg claim atop. That brings him into it.

WANGARATTA: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM
LET IT BEEL (9) looks set to break through. Fourth at Sandown two back then runner-up latest over the mile at Cranbourne when finished off well. This looks ideal and gets chance to get off the mark. MEET THE WIFE (8) has also been running on well, the latest when fourth at the mile at Seymour. Can improve again and looks a strong winning chance. ZA ZA BEST (13) showed ability on debut then had the blinkers added last time but went too keenly and weakened late. Has them removed this time and fitter again can improve sharply. VLTAVA (12) is having just third career start and hasn't been far away with a pair of fifths so far. Blinkers added and worth keeping safe.

IPSWICH: RACE 4 @ 10:35 AM
The penny has dropped for BRUCKHEIMER (2) who has strung back-to-back wins together and is racing with a lot of confidence of late. Winning rider Youngberry sticks and again gets the benefit of her 3kg claim. Rates the testing material. NO NAME FRANK (1) has gotten better with each run this time in and looks to be working up to another victory. Include in calculations. I'M ZAC (3) has placed over this course and distance and will find this easier than the recent Saturday metro outing. In the mix. JEROME (8) is stepping up in class after a last-start win by 0.8 lengths over 1200m at Warwick at huge odds. Has a liking for this trip and is worth consideration.
SELECTIONS: Bruckheimer to bring up the hat-trick.
