Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Wyong, Sapphire Coast, Warrnambool, Rockhampton and Northam.

WYONG: RACE 8 @ 5:30 PM

SARRISMO (1) progressive gelding with a tidy win record. Returned from a lengthy break with a blistering on-pace win over 1300m at Hawkesbury in fast time. Sent to town when he sat off the speed as fav for a respectable second over 1400m at Rosehill in BM72 class. Ready for the mile and will prove hard to stop with the claim. WAL'S ANGELS (3) consistent on-pace gelding who deserves his shot in this tougher contest. Deep into the prep now and drops in weight after jumping in trip when a game second over 2000m at Bathurst. Back to the mile and can stalk the good tempo. Each way. SUPER SUGOI (5) from the in-form Matt Smith stable and represents good each way value fourth-up. Elected to go back from the gate when a plugging fifth over this trip at Kembla Grange. Can push forward today and play a leading role. INCEPTION (6) relished the mile when taken to the front from the awkward gate to salute over 1600m at Scone. Morgan sticks and no reason he can't win again.
SELECTIONS: Sarrismo will appreciate the drop in class.

SAPPHIRE COAST: RACE 3 @ 3:25 PM

PRETTY PLEASE (1) has raced well at all three runs this prep on her home track of Kembla, most recently on Saturday when she chimed in late on to miss by a whisker over today's trip. Only needs to hold that form to be taking this out. TSARINA DIAMONDS (3) is the best hope of causing an upset. Good effort two back when beaten a long neck as favourite in a Class 1 over the mile at Canberra. Will race on the speed with winkers on for the first time and should take some catching. BURNING AMBITION (2) ran a better race last time out when he closed well to grab second over 1675m at Wagga Riverside. Not out of the contest based on that performance. BASTION (4) has raced just twice and lacked the turn of foot required in shorter races. Might come into his own with this step up in journey. KINDAMAGIC (7) worked home well when resuming Goulburn last start and an extra 400m is to her advantage.
SELECTIONS: Pretty Please should be too good for these.

WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM

STAR COMPASS (11) has placed 4/4 and third up is ready to break through. Placed at Murtoa 26 days ago and three winners have come out of that. Races forward and will get every chance. BIG ROOSTER (2) just missed at Hamilton on debut and it was a decent effort after a slow away. Will present fitter and should be hitting the line hard. Maher-trained LADY LONSDALE (12) resumed at Sandown-Hillside 36 days ago well in the market but didn't finish it off. Brought promising form to that and has been kept up to the mark with a Cranbourne jumpout. Draws wide but has a key gear switch and on song she's right up to this. FLYING DONE (8) resumes for a local stable and has jumped out twice with race rider Yendall aboard. His only start was in the rich Gold Elvstroem Classic at Swan Hill when he was slow away. Has to be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: Star Compass appeals most.

ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 1 @ 11:46 AM

PRETTY SLICK (5) goes well for hoop Butler who has a win and three placings from just four steers and has been racing very consistently of late. Saves her best form for this track and trip and looks the one they all have to run down. FORTRESS AUSTRALIA (2) has only missed a drum once in six spins around this circuit and gets a stack of weight relief with the 3kg claim. Looms as the main danger. TORQUE I TEE (4) strips fitter second-up from the break and gets the services of Wiggins in the irons from the inside alley. Ticks a few boxes. YOUR TOO GOOD (1) will be high on confidence following that last-start victory and can make his presence felt. LADY TOWNSON (3) has a win and a placing from four starts at this venue and may run a race at odds.
SELECTIONS: Backing Pretty Slick.

NORTHAM: RACE 6 @ 7:46 PM

The speedy SHOWLAS (4) resumes and has the form to be winning. She's won 1/2 fresh and at her only go this track/distance. She will jump and run from the inside barrier and enjoys a 3kg claim. Suited and should be ready to go. CLEANEMUP (1) will be a lot more competitive than the form line suggests. He's been racing in better class and was only beaten 2.4L at Ascot last time. The 3kg claim brings him right into it. BARECOVE ROCK (2) brings strong city form over a mile to resumption and has warmed up with a Belmont trial hitout. May need one but he has some talent and maps to advantage. RANYX (3) also resumes and just missed in a recent Belmont trial. He's fast and can give a sight.
SELECTIONS: Backing Showlas.
