Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Port Macquarie, Quirindi, Seymour, Ipswich and Bunbury.
PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 2 @ 2:25 PM
MYRIAD (2) former Godolphin three-year-old resuming for the Nathan Doyle stable. Gelded over the break after failing to show much in three runs in Victoria. Has impressed in two searching 1000m trials and no shock to see him prove too good for these. EX WIFE (1) had mixed fortunes in three runs this campaign and now in the Glen Milligan yard. Faded quickly in town with the 59kg when a poor last over 1300m at Warwick Farm. Improver at this level. RED CHICK (8) chipped away late on debut when fourth over 1015m at Grafton. Fitter now and can race closer from the low gate. CLUSTER'S GENERAL (7) solid return over the 810m with the 59kg for a courageous third at Coffs Harbour. Only has to hold that form to take a hand in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Myriad looks too sharp for these.

QUIRINDI: RACE 2 @ 2:45 PM
RAINBOW BLESSING (12) continued her good form this prep when she changed tactics and led last start before battling on gamely for second over 1350m at the Beaumont track. Rock hard fit and draws a nice gate. Looks the one to beat in a maiden that lacks a bit of depth. VENDOR (7) has settled in the second half of the field then worked home fairly in his two runs this prep, the latest over 1500m at Muswellbrook. Might sharpen up with the blinkers reapplied so give him one more chance. IRISH ACCOLADE (2) had a five-week let-up and a change of stables before his respectable fifth over the mile at Newcastle recently. In a far easier maiden today so should be in the finish. MEGANHEW (9) took on the new role of leader last start but wilted at the end of 1500m at Muswellbrook. Lightly raced mare who is still learning and can improve off that run. TAKETHEMONEYANDRUN (4) returns from a five-month spell. Showed enough in the maiden campaign to suggest he is an each-way chance.
SELECTIONS: Rainbow Blessing to break through.
SEYMOUR: RACE 8 @ 5:00 PM
MACEDON ROSE (16) is in a top metro stable and is clearly the one to beat. Didn't have much luck at Ballarat last time as a short-priced favourite and is still well shy of her best recorded at Stakes level. A top hoop rides. HANDY FRIEND (1) resumed with a narrow defeat at Kyneton and is further improved. Has an awkward gate to contend with but fitter should be right in the finish. MATERAZZI (9) was vet cleared after a plain run at Caulfield at 70 level. He was an easy Maiden winner prior and maps for a soft run. Worth a look at the each-way odds. Ditto KISS MY ROCK (2) who resumed in solid order. Has plenty up the sleeve and the mile is ideal for for him.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Macedon Rose.
IPSWICH: RACE 3 @ 3:27 PM
TROPIC SANDS (4) couldn't have been more impressive saluting at the Gold Coast last time out and will have taken a bunch of confidence from that dominant victory. Winning rider Peisley sticks in the stirrups and should give backers a great sight up on speed. GREY NORTHERN (6) has put back-to-back wins together and it's hard to knock mares in form. Could easily bring up the hat-trick here against this field decimated by scratchings. UNCOMMON VALOUR (1) loves racing at this track only missing a drum once in eight spins. Can bounce back after a plain performance last time out. OUTBURST (5) best of the rest from the inside alley.
SELECTIONS: Tropic Sands to win again.
BUNBURY: RACE 3 @ 2:57 PM
HERAULT (6) settled well back and wound up strongly to finish a long neck adrift over 1400m at Northam. He was heavily bet and couldn't have been more impressive. May has to do it the hard way again, but he'll be fitter again, and the step up to the mile is in his favour. INVINCIBLE THIEF (3) also made up plenty of ground to find a place over this trip on the same day. She has more to give and should be fighting out the finish. LOVE OF FAR FA (5) was quickly back on track missing by 1L at Bunbury over 1705m. She's raced the two before over middle distances and she gets a gear switch on a 9-day return. Hard fit now and is well in the mix. WHO'S TALKING (4) peaks and is heading in the right direction. Has no luck here the latest over 1400m, and draws an inside barrier today. Consider.
SELECTIONS: Backing Herault.
