Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 18.
Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Scone, Kyneton and Roma.
SCONE: RACE 3 @ 2:25 PM
MOUNT BONA (11) was backed off the map here first-up and was slow off. She was also expected to win at Muswellbrook last time but covered ground when narrowly beaten. She is suited stepping up to a mile and maps for the run of the race. Bullock stays aboard, and he strikes at a whopping 40% with the sharp stable. LAIZABOUT (5) peaks off three placings, and there was nothing in it here two back. The well-bred gelding is back in grade and rates to go close. SPENZALOT (8) settled well back and found the line strongly beaten 2L in stronger at Hawkesbury. He placed first-up in this grade here prior and can make the finish with the extra fitness. JOIKA (13) is a stablemate to the top selection and impressed coming from the back at Muswellbrook on debut, missing by 1.4L. Will have to do it the hard way again, but can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: With Mount Bona.

KYNETON: RACE 9 @ 5:35 PM
Wide open again. SHANGHAI VENTURE (7) is much better than last start on a very much rain-affected day at Geelong. Best form stacks right up to this level and gets chance to atone. SELF SERVE (6) is another below best latest. Was going along well before tackling a Class 1 over the border and didn't finish it off. Runner-up previous two starts and drawn for a soft run here. DRONE ATTACK (1) ran a nice race fresh to place when running on hard. Fitter again and looks a leading chance despite the wide draw. PURE RAIN (8) is a mare back from a long spell. Has placed 3/4 fresh and was a recent trial winner. Among the chances if presented on song. SHE IS ALL MAGIC (9) was disappointing last time when safely held at the picnics. Was a winner the start prior with Gatt aboard and he returns to the saddle this time. Can bounce back.
SELECTIONS: Give Shanghai Venture another try.
ROMA: RACE 2 @ 1:10 PM
DON'T TOUCH (3) is a boom four-year-old mare yet to taste defeat in two runs, the most recent win by 2 lengths over 1100m at Twin Hills. Comfortable winner last time and can measure up again. HI FRANK (6) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish fifth, beaten 5 lengths, over 1200m at Emerald. Another bold showing is expected. BONTOBEWILD (4) got the prize two runs ago but couldn't follow that up last time out when third over 1100m at Charleville. Should be thereabouts. SHEDENZA (2) joins the new stable following a poor run at Toowoomba last time out. She's better suited back to this grade now and an improved run is on the cards.
SELECTIONS: Don't Touch to keep the unbeaten run intact.
