Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Taree, Kilmore, Swan Hill, Canberra, Beaudesert, Bunbury, Hobart and Clare.

TAREE: RACE 7 @ 5:24 PM

WHAT A RUSH (2) consistent filly who comes out of a strong contest. Gripped on late when dictating early to run third over 1000m at Kempsey in slick time. Gets a similar set-up and winning rider retains the ride. SO YOU SUGGEST (10) just under a month between runs when she faded late to run fifth over 1000m at Muswellbrook. Has a good record here and shown ability in town. Value chance. SAPPHIRE KISS (11) raced without luck at her two runs back. Snagged back from the draw and failed to get into the contest when eighth over 1000m at Gosford in BM68 class. Gets the right run and shapes as a worthy contender. MR TRACKSIDE (3) no match for the speedy Bremel last time out when sixth over 1000m at Wyong. Gets the required tempo and not to be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: What A Rush in a tight contest.

KILMORE: RACE 1 @ 1:10 PM

Fascinating race to kick off Cup Day, where a few well-bred first-starters from top stables loom as key players. One of them is IMPONDERABLE (12), a daughter of So You Think, who had blinkers added for her most recent jumpout, which sparked massive improvement. She showed a swift turn of foot rounding the home turn and cleared out for a massive win. The blinkers stay on here and 1450m on debut looks suitable. PAVLICH (7) looks the best of the raced brigade, beaten half-a-length when third on debut after blowing the start, and that race experience could prove crucial here. KING'S ANCHOR (6) is a first-starter from the McEvoy yard who's won his last two trials. Bit of a gap to the rest, the best of whom might be ACANTILADO (1), who will be better for a couple of runs back.
SELECTIONS: Imponderable to win.

KILMORE: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM

TAN TAT DELIGHT (14) found the blackbook of many after her debut at Kyneton, when she was stuck three back the fence and didn't get out until well into the straight before charging to the line to be beaten just half-a-length. The inside was inferior ground that day, too, which only added to the performance. She only needs to run up to that to break the maiden here. ECO EXPRESS (3) was never really a factor on debut but that race was won by a handy one and the runner-up won at Ballarat on Thursday, so the form's held up. OCTANE REIGN (5) could be an improver in blinkers, which sparked a good showing in a recent jumpout. It might pay to forgive SPARKLING AWARD (13) the ordinary debut because it was on Heavy ground and she did beat Tan Tat Delight in a jumpout prior. ROGUE WARRIOR (6) has been gelded since the debut and has the draw to run an improved race.
SELECTIONS: Tan Tat Delight to win.

CANBERRA: RACE 6 @ 4:25 PM

KIMBERLEY SECRETS (2) wasn't at her best last start but is a mare with genuine talent. She should appreciate some give in the ground and has the pace to offset a wide draw. Despite the big weight, her class can shine through. MY LAST HOORAY (9) has been hitting the line strongly all campaign without breaking through. From a better draw he can settle closer, and with his sharp turn of foot he looks a real threat. VELLA FOX (5) has returned in excellent order, following his determined win here with a strong effort chasing at Albury. He's at peak fitness now, though will need luck from the gate. SUTTON VELLA (10) can be competitive again.
SELECTIONS: Kimberley Secrets to win.

SWAN HILL: RACE 4 @ 3:15 PM

BEST TERMS (7) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 1400m at Pakenham when third, beaten 7 lengths in a fast run race. Drops back a notch here into what looks a winnable race getting to a more suitable trip. MANHATTAN MABS (11) finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 1600m at Hamilton when she did her best work late, beaten 2.25 lengths. Fitter for that and she should get a nice run midfield. DAD AND DAVE (8) was solid on debut at Echuca over 1400m with scope to improve. He should appreciate rising to 1600m for the top yard. HEART'S EMBRACE (10) stuck on fairly on debut at Horsham over 1400m and will be better for it. Each way. RING THE SHERIFF (4) resumes. If he's fit enough he's good enough to figure.
SELECTIONS: Best Terms to win.

BEAUDESERT: RACE 1 @ 12:15 PM

JAM PACKED (3) gave away a considerable start over 1800m at Gold Coast last time before hitting the line well to finish fourth. Will drift back but is sure to prove tough to beat. VAN DE BAN (2) last start wound up strongly to finish second, beaten 2 lengths, over 1400m at Sunshine Coast. Will be tough to hold out again. The well-related WEEKEND ARTIST (11) (half to G3 winner and G2 placed I'm All The Talk) was prominent through the early and middle stages last time out before fading to finish fifth over 2200m at Gold Coast. Will appreciate the drop in grade. Well placed and is one of the contenders. CAPOCOLA (9) just missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 1550m at Murwillumbah, beaten only 1.5 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can find the winner's circle.
SELECTIONS: Jam Packed to break the maiden status.

BUNBURY: RACE 6 @ 5:10 PM

SAVAGE DANCER (3) just missed first-up when rattling home from the back before a plain run last start as favourite in a CL3 at Ascot. She drops back to a CL1 today and drawing away from the rail looks ideal. Can build into the race nicely on the turn and return to winning ways. RIVER ANGEL (5) got back in the run over this trip at Belmont last time out and draws a better gate this time around. The claim of Cooper comes in handy and she looks ready to peak third-up into the campaign. Ticks plenty of boxes off the last start effort and can land the knockout blow. RETURN OF THE MACH (4) showed plenty in her last campaign, missing here fresh before a big maiden win 144 days ago. She's some query off her latest trial, though she did trial in similar fashion coming into her last campaign. Can fire a shot on debut. O'SO DEMANDING (6) can be in the finish fresh. BOSISTO (1) won't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Savage Dancer looks the one to beat.

HOBART: RACE 7 @ 3:55 PM

Hard to fault the form of SH'BOURNE MIDNIGHT (1) who has a great overall record including two wins and two minors from five tries this course and distance. Just missed fresh then scored over 1420m latest and drawn for a good run will go close again. STONE COLD STUNNER (10) made a nice return over 1200m when placed and strips fitter. Has placed 2/3 second-up and should be in the finish again. FIGHTING FLOYD (7) was a winner in slightly easier grade last time. Has great stats at the course and distance and with the claimer aboard again drops nicely in the weights. RUBBLE 'N' FUDD (9) is a bit of an enigma boasting plenty of talent but has struggled to put it on the board. Just missed two back then well off best latest. Has trialled since and scratched Friday and saved for this. Have to include. FLOSSING (11) is a former Victorian having first run this area and could easily measure up on best figures.
SELECTIONS: Follow up on Sh'Bourne Midnight.

CLARE: RACE 3 @ 2:00 PM

LUDINA (10) continues to build nicely into her prep, last start sticking on strongly for second over the mile at Balaklava. She looks open to further improvement and shapes as the one they'll have to beat. THE PUNK ROCKER (6) comes through the same race, improving to finish fifth after racing prominently. Strips fitter third-up, draws well, and can give this a serious shake. PRINCE LUCIFER (7) showed good late strength when finishing fourth at Gawler and should relish the step up in trip. He's capable of playing a major role. GOOCHEE GAL (8) disappointed last time but had been racing consistently prior. She's more than capable of bouncing back and shouldn't be overlooked.
SELECTIONS: Ludina to win.
