Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Canterbury, Geelong, Canberra,
Murwillumbah, Doomben, Cranbourne, Warren, Morphettville and Albany.

CANTERBURY: RACE 5 @ 8:00 PM

LET'S FLY (1) is desperate for a change of luck and she should get the right conditions in this weaker contest. Loomed strongly in the testing conditions when a fighting third to Brave Call over 2000m at Kembla Grange in BM78 class. Braith Nock retains the ride and should prove too good for these. OAKFIELD WALLABY (2) has come back in good order this time in and a win looks imminent. Caught the eye through the line when a solid fourth over 1900m at this track. Should get the right tempo and looks well placed to break through. HAPPINESS (7) lightly raced gelding heading in the right direction. Was six weeks between runs when coming from off the speed for a close-up second over 1900m at this track. Fitter now and represents good each-way value. GENERAL SOHO (6) tough old gelding with his hoof on the till. Down in the weights and not to be overlooked.
SELECTIONS: Let's Fly can assert her class.

GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM

GENRICHERO (2) is down seriously in grade on last start, when he started single-figure odds and was beaten only 1.25 lengths by Black Run, who is a leading contender for Saturday's Pakenham Cup. Not beaten too far by the same horse the start prior and that looks the standout form reference for this. HOT TOO GO (3) beat Genrichero home two back and probably needs to be forgiven the poor last start because three runs ago he also defeated AMLETO (1), who's a key player here. He's probably got a little improvement to come than Genrichero and Hot Too Go and tuned up for this with a nice recent trial win. RELIABLE JO (8) is deep into the first prep now, but wasn't far off Leonchroi last start so if he can hold that form for one more run he could play a role.
SELECTIONS: Genrichero to win.

CANBERRA: RACE 6 @ 5:05 PM

The speedy MASTER OF DISGUISE (5) raced well in town before a narrow defeat in Open grade at Albury. Followed with an easy win in an Orange 82, heavily supported again. Will carry just 54kg with the claim and is well placed to keep winning for the in-form local barn. KEIKOKU (7) just missed here this grade 7 days ago over 1200m. Impressed charging home from the back and the longer sprint is sure to suit. Third up now and has solid each-way claims. CHASING A QUID (12) needed the first-up outing and expect him to be much more competitive today. Ran a decent number at Albury before the spell, and carrying just 52kg, he will get every chance to run out the longer sprint. EPAULLO CREED (1) is in the in-form Olive yard and is going well enough to get into the finish. Maps well and the 3kg claim brings him into it. XCEPTIONAL FELLA (13) has weight relief at this level and assess his chances on an impressive win here first-up. Needs a good ride, but he should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Backing Master Of Disguise to win.

MURWILLUMBAH: RACE 8 @ 5:20 PM

BAILS (3) is a promising mare in the Matt Dunn yard. Just missed on debut and then stepped up to 1800m at the Gold Coast and won her Maiden comfortably as expected. The extra 200m will hold no fears and she benefits from Newman's 1.5kg claim. Maps well and can round out a successful day for the stable. BRAIN WAVE (4) just missed at Ballina as a firm favourite over 1920m. She likes to run along, and Mallyon is a positive jockey engagement. In good hands and should be right in it. PERRI LASS (7) brings strong provincial form over a mile and has placed at this course/trip. She's also going well enough to feature. AYASAKI (1) presents off a narrow defeat at Beaudesert over a staying trip. He led in that but is likely to take a sit today dropping back to a middle distance. This is harder, but he'll be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: With Bails.

DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 5:34 PM

BARRELLING (4) shed the maiden tag over this course and distance last time out and will have derived a stack of confidence from that breakthrough victory. Winning hoop Maloney sticks in the irons and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Can go back-to-back. ROMANTIC BUBBLE (6) couldn't have been more impressive saluting at the Gold Coast on debut before hitting the frame over this track and trip at the latest effort. Don't discount lightly. The well-related NORTH POLE (3) (half to G3 winner and G2 placed Global Quest) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome last time but the form prior was full of merit. Worth another chance. SUMMIT (12) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be discounted lightly. HOT MAJESTY (1) next in line while fresh.
SELECTIONS: Barrelling to win again.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 2 @ 6:45 PM

AHHA AHHA (4) should be an improver third up. The fresh run at Bendigo was good without much luck before struggling here on Cup day when getting back on a fast deck that suited those on speed. This is a fair bit easier and she should take beating. TRANGOOJAHRAY (3) resumes. She won three in a row to starts last campaign, getting out to 1800m before a spell. This may be on the shorter side of her best trip but she's talented and should go well. TSARINE (6) gets out past 1200m for the first time in her career which should suit, being by Savabeel. The fresh run was good at Mornington and she looks an improver. HAPPY TIERS (5) was just fair last time on a tricky track at Pakenham and might be better suited up in trip.
SELECTIONS: Ahha Ahha to win.

WARREN: RACE 6 @ 6:49 PM

Lots of these off forgive runs. GIOVANNA STAR (4) returned with a great run though when placing over 1100m and beaten just over a length. Second-up winner fitter again and looks hard to beat again. JADE DIVISION (3) is on the quick back-up after being used up early and fading out of it over the weekend at Dubbo. Has a good record at the trip and also this circuit. Drawn well and is worth another chance. Best figures right up to this. PATTERA (2) was great two back in tougher but then disappointed in the latest. Has good speed and off the inside will take catching. THE DEFIANT ONE (5) is a fairly honest type with solid recent form. Has the claim and a low draw and gets a chance. LOUD (9) was safely held fresh but fitter and aided by the claim. Can improve sharply.
SELECTIONS: Follow up on Giovanna Star.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 6 @ 6:23 PM

CREEK (5) is busting to break through and gets a perfect chance returning from the city. The one he chased last time looks quite handy, and the runner-up Swiftie Harriet has since won in Victoria. Peaking now and is the one to beat. ANDREW'S MEMORY (4) never looked likely last time in town but warmed late. Better suited back at this level and is a genuine hope on best form. NOSIE BY NATURE (10) gave backers a great sight last time at Gawler, only to be gunned down late. Back on track and can give this a shake. LASTAR (9) doesn't win out of turn but has claims on best efforts and gets in light with the 3kg claimer engaged. One to keep safe in the minors.
SELECTIONS: Creek best of the day.

ALBANY: RACE 6 @ 8:05 PM

ASTONISHER (7) led them up over this track and trip last time out to break her maiden in good fashion. She'll be better for that effort and this shapes similarly. She remains down in the weights after the claim of Nottle and she can continue to work through the grades. POLYVANOVA (6) comes back from a CL2 last time out where she wasn't far away, beaten 2.5L after sitting on the speed. Watson hops back on board, replacing the apprentice hoop and she maps to be prominent once again. Can get back to her best form and that'll see her hard to beat. COATACHINO (8) got the job done over 1.6L last time out over the mile here in a strong performance. She remains down in the weights despite that victory and this looks to set up beautifully for her. Can go back-to-back without surprising. MAKIN PROPHETS (3) is third-up now and should be hitting his straps as he resumed without a trial. Can raise the bar. DELTA ANNE (9) is on the quick turnaround but looks well placed with the blinkers back on.
SELECTIONS: Astonisher can go back-to-back.
