Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Moruya, Sale, Horsham, Gatton, Mount Gambier and Pinjarra.
MORUYA: RACE 4 @ 2:55 PM
BLUE MONDAY (12) eye-catching debut when closed off strongly for an unlucky second over 1200m at Kembla Grange. Finds a much easier contest and should prove too smart for these from the inside gate. BRUTAL ADVANCE (1) deep into his preparation and assess on his fast finishing second at Hawkesbury three starts back. Blinkers come off from the low draw and looks the main danger. COLD MIST (2) from the in-form Paul Murray stable and strips fitter after closing late for a respectable fourth over 1200m at Queanbeyan. Has the speed to get across from the gate and not to be overlooked. ZEEMA (11) knocked up late at her first run back when fourth over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Placed second-up in the past and stays in the contest. I DOUBT IT (7) back without a trial when an even fifth first-up. Looks the best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Blue Monday is expected to shed her Maiden status.

SALE: RACE 6 @ 3:50 PM
SUN GIFT (1) resumed with a 1.75 lengths defeat over a mile at Caulfield Heath. He brought strong metro staying form to that, and the step up to a middle distance suits. Carries a kilo less and Egan is a positive jockey engagement. Should have these well covered. PROVEN RECORD (5) resumed and won her Maiden by 5.5L at Pakenham over 1600m. Got too far back at Mornington following and was never in the hunt. Presents fitter and Newitt steers from an inside gate. She's likely to appreciate the longer journey and can get into the finish. CRYPTIC CLUE (6) got closer at Wangaratta over the mile. Has been giving away big starts, suggesting she'll be better suited over this distance. MASH AND GRAVY (10) tumbles in weight off a comfortable win at the picnics, and we know he will run it out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Sun Gift to win.
HORSHAM: RACE 3 @ 3:00 PM
WOLFOFFITROYSTREET (9) tumbles in grade off two placings at Caulfield Heath. Just missed as a $2.4 favourite last time and will likely push forward. In the top yard and is hard to go past. VALOR BOUND (8) jumped out well and on his debut was beaten less than 2 lengths at Donald over a mile. Fitter and the blinkers come off. John Allen stays aboard, and he's the threat. FOX STRIKE (2) resumed in the Valor Bound race, and it was a solid effort. He draws inside and won't be far away. SASTERION (4) didn't threaten first-up at Wangaratta but was doing his best work late. Strips fitter and is one of the each-way hopes.
SELECTIONS: Wolfoffitroystreet is well placed.
GATTON: RACE 1 @ 1:00 PM
REVANTAS (3) is a five-start maiden who finished sixth, beaten 3 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1100m at Toowoomba. Fitter for that outing and is a great chance to break his maiden status. BALERION DRIVE (7) has not raced since her debut on July 28 over 1000m at Toowoomba when she finished sixth, beaten 10 lengths. Was well in the market on that occasion and will have a lot more to offer this time. DAFFERS (9) returns from a spell of six-and-a-half months and is having her first run for a new yard. Finished ninth at Wellington over 1000m when first-up last time in work. Fitter for a minor placing in a recent Beaudesert trial and any push in betting must be noted. LOQUITO (10) didn't make an impression first-up but is a likely improver.
SELECTIONS: Revantas to shed the maiden tag.
MT GAMBIER: RACE 4 @ 2:53 PM
THE DAILY PLANET (2) did a good job last time, finishing in the money when second over 1600m at Stawell. Much better gate this time and gets his chance to break through. PUNCHIN (1) dug deep to score two back then could only manage to finish fifth over 1800m at Morphettville last time four weeks ago. Should enjoy the drop in grade. Among the leading chances in this company. DON'T MATTA ME (9) turned in an eye-catching run over 1476m at Penshurst last time, ridden back before coming home with a powerful run to finish second. Will be doing his best work late. SEE DE NIGHT (5) was a determined winner here two back. Not as effective last time but backs up quickly and can get things back on track.
SELECTIONS: The Daily Planet to win.
PINJARRA: RACE 3 @ 3:00 PM
WILD THINGS (10) hit the line nicely fresh before a 0.8L defeat out to this trip last start at Belmont, turning in a strong performance in tougher company. Fiore hops in the saddle now and she has drawn to sit closer this time around. Can go a couple better now in what looks a very winnable race for her. FIELD MISTRESS (11) was swamped late at this track fresh, sitting handy over 1200m but ending up 3L off the winner. Pike hops in the saddle now, replacing the apprentice hoop and she had trialled nicely coming into that race. Fitter now and can turn in a better performance. MR KARADEC (4) is another who had trialled nicely coming into his debut, finishing 1.4L of the winner when closing strongly over 1200m at Bunbury. Out to 1400m is a big tick for this son of Castelvecchio and another bold showing is expected. SUPER SENTAI (3) will find this easier than his debut effort at Ascot and has to be included. JOYOH (8) was solid over this track and trip last start and has claims.
SELECTIONS: Wild Things looks the one to beat.
