Geraldton plays a handy supporting role on Melbourne Cup Day with six races on the card.

The final event on the card looks to have some handy types resuming in what appears a competitive event on paper.

Race 1: TABtouch PLACE A SAME RACE MULTI MAIDEN (1618m)

A LOT OF CLASS (3) looks the one to beat following his 1.4L over 1400m here last time out. He steps out to this distance for the first time today, though it does look to suit. Trending the right way and he looks to have more class and upside than his rivals in this event. DIVERSE (8) is another who steps out to this trip for the first time. She disappointed last time out when dropping right out of contention, but this may be what she's looking for and the inside draw is a big tick. Can get back to her best. CRYSTAL ROSE (7) can mix her form, though she has been competitive up to the mile before and those figures stack up highly in this. Pacifiers go on now and she can put her best foot forward. BIG BONED BAZ (6) is better than he showed last time out and is not to be discounted.

Race 2: TABtouch SCAN MY BET HANDICAP (1618m)

FORBIDDEN APPLE (6) brings the strongest form into this race, beaten just 1.4L from a mile back last time out as favourite. She was a dominant winner prior to that over 1400m. Did plenty wrong last start which cost her, but if she's on her best behaviour today she'll go close to winning. WELL PLAYED (1) got the job done last start as favourite and that form has already been franked. She does rise in weight and distance, but neither seem an issue with her third-up record. Looks to get a kind run on the map and she'll prove tough to beat if she runs to those figures. UNO ME (5) disappointed last start behind Well Played but his prior ratings stack right up in this field. Won't have to do as much work today from the low draw and should be right in the finish. BUTTERFLYROCK (3) was a surprise winner last start when 60-1, though she rates highly off that win and maps for a similar run today.

Race 3: YOUVE GOT THE TABtouch MAIDEN (1113m)

GRINT (2) resumes today on the back of a nice trial here. He's still chasing his maiden win, but he has plenty of ratings last campaign in Metro Adelaide races that would get the job done in this. Now with the new barn, but maps for a lovely run and he can make a winning return. HILLSIDE HORACE (3) resumes today after being a late scratching back on October 3. His form from last campaign stacks up nicely and although he may want further, he maps for a lovely run in transit today. Can land the knockout blow. GOLD LIGHTNING (9) comes into this of a 102-day let up after beginning her career in Victoria. She'll find this easier than those efforts there. Been handed the visitors draw, though she'll be finishing off strongly. DIXIE PRINCESS (7) has to be included on her recent efforts. IMPENDING FEATURE (8) looks best of the rest third-up today.

Race 4: TABtouch HAVE YOU GOT THE TOUCH HANDICAP (1113m)

WESTOZI (2) has trialled very well coming into this and rates highly on his form prior to the break. He is 0/3 first-up, but he went to a new level last campaign and he maps for a lovely run in transit today. The one to beat if he can pick up where he left off. WHAT A PRINCE (1) disappointed over further last time out when faded badly from out in front. He does tend to improve sharply third-up into the campaign and he draws the best barrier he's seen this time in work. Can find the front and prove very tough to run down as he hits his peak. ARABIAN RICHES (3) disappointed last start when leading the field turning for home. He has plenty of ratings higher than that, including over this course and distance. Can put his best foot forward. MINUS LOOKS (4) drops back in trip today and can feature if he's at this best.

Race 5: TABtouch SHARE MY BET HANDICAP (1213m)

SURE NO SOMETHING (5) improved nicely last start and looks ready to improve again third-up into the campaign. He maps for a lovely run in transit and he is a course and distance winner previously. Can go to another level now and put his rivals to the sword. SAFE HUSTLE (6) was very impressive last start when running away to score by 1L over 1100m here. He does rise slightly in weight, but this looks to set up similarly and the extra journey is no problem. Should be right in the finish if he can run up to his most recent figures. SAUVEGARDE (2) finished just behind Safe Hustle last start and was first-up there. Fitter and further are both ticks and she's sure to make her presence felt. MAKE MINE SUPER (3) was only fair on resumption but he is better than that. Expecting him to turn his form around today.

Race 6: RACING WA CAREERS IN RACING HANDICAP (1413m)

MONTY ZOOMER (1) resumed in good order here from a wide draw when planted wide and without cover throughout. This looks a much better scenario for him today and he has plenty of upside still to come. Can land close to the speed and stamp his authority. SKY VIEW (7) stepped out to the mile last start and may not have run out the extra trip when well beaten. Back to this journey today looks a positive and she shouldn't be as far back as we've seen recently. Can make her presence felt. MIFF MUFFERED MOOF (4) stuck on well when a 13-1 chance here last start and the form out of that race has been franked already. She looks to get a similar run in transit this time and with the added fitness under her belt,, she should be in this for a very long way. STAY ASTERN (2) should be hitting his peak now and is sure to be strong at the finish.

Race 7: ALL WA RACES LIVE AND FREE ON 7PLUS HANDICAP (1113m)

Competitive race to end the day. ON THE MARK (2) was too good last start 79 days ago when running away to score by 4L at Carnarvon. His form prior was very competitive in Metropolitan grade. He's been freshened coming into this and he has plenty of upside. Can win again. WEAPONIZE (7) resumes today and will find this much easier than the events he's been running in previously. He's a newcomer to the Backshall stable and while he is 0/5 fresh, those efforts have been in much tougher races. Big chance if he can pick up where he left off. STEVIE'S MAY (6) ran over the top to win at this track and trip 12 days ago in good time. She maps for a more economical run this time around and if she can improve again third-up, she's sure to go close. FINE LINE (9) was good behind Stevie's May first-up and can improve on that effort. SPARKLE CORNER (4) disappointed last start as favourite but is better than that. Watch for him to bounce back.
