Race by race Geraldton preview - Wednesday, 27th November 2024

Racing heads to Geraldton on Wednesday with seven chances to find a winner.

You can watch all the action live and free on 7Plus and Racing WA

Race 1: TABtouch YOUVE GOT THE TOUCH MAIDEN (1100m)

FIRE THE GUARD (1) has been racing in stronger maiden's of late and wasn't far away over 1200m at Bunbury most recently. This doesn't look an overly strong event and he should get his chance from a nice barrier. Back in trip won't be an issue and he can shed the maiden tag. CASH FLOW (3) raced around some handy types in his last preparation and looks to be on song judging by a recent trial. No doubt he'll be better over further, but he looks to have some class about him and this is a lot easier than what he faced last campaign. Can return with a bang. DIXIE PRINCESS (4) will need some luck from an outside draw, though she does possess some early speed. She comes through a nice form race over this track and trip last start and Coopers 2kg claim comes in handy. Can be in the finish. MATSOKA (5) 3ran on well last start on the quick turnaround and will find this a little easier. Include. GOLD LIGHTNING (8) is best of the rest.

Race 2: RACING WA - CAREERS IN RACING MAIDEN (1400m)

SPECIAL PLAN (8) resumed in great order over this course and distance 10 days ago in a high-rating effort. He'll need some luck again from an outside alley, but she strips fitter now and if she can replicate her fresh effort, she'll be very hard to beat. BLACK SANDS (1) drops back to 1400m today following a poor effort over the mile most recently. He can tend to mix his form, though his best should be going close in this race and he's right in the mix on his best figures. AURORA QUEEN (14) makes her debut today and has claims with the raced brigade only looking fair. She's been solid at the trials coming in and she'll carry little weight. Can play a role on debut. FLASH INVADER (3) was slowly away last start but still ran a great race, only missing out by 1.9L. Won't be far away again if he can hold his form. DIVERSE (9) is next best.

Race 3: TABtouch SCAN MY BET HANDICAP (1600m)

HILLSIDE HORACE (2) won well fresh before a strong effort over 1400m here just 10 days ago. He may need some luck from the draw, but he's racing in strong order and he has placed over this track and trip previously. Racing in good order and can continue his strong run of form. ALMAYA (1) gets the Visors back on today, replacing the blinkers following a 1L defeat here most recently in a CL1. He draws to get every chance today for Ramoly and his recent ratings stack up in this field. Can play a major role. GONDRINKIN (8) bounced back last start with a strong run over this course and distance, beating Almaya on that occasion. Drawn out again which is a niggle, though Troy Turner takes the ride now and he'll go close if he runs to form. MIFF MUFFERED MOOF (4) steps out to the mile for just the second time, though she looks ready for the trip now. Include. JURUENA GOLD (3) can improve on the first-up effort.

Race 4: OWN THE DREAM COMPETITION NOW OPEN HANDICAP (1100m)

LORD SHIVA (1) disappointed last start at Northam in a CL1 but was racing in top order prior to that. The form out of his last start has been good and he did jump the favourite there. Now 41-days between runs and he has the speed to offset the barrier. Clearly the one to beat on his best form. IDENTIFIER (2) was only fair on resumption over 1200m here, but will appreciate getting back to this distance where he is a winner preciously. She maps for a beautiful run under Turner who has two wins when partnering. Wouldn't surprise to see her improve sharply. GOLD KEEPER (5) was only 1.4L off the winner last start over this trip at Bunbury and will find this easier than recent efforts. Back to a CL2 now and the Visors are reapplied. Can make his presence felt. HOT NOVA (11) is better than she showed last time out and can bounce back. POP THE MOET (3) can play a role on debut.

Race 5: TABtouch - BETTER YOUR BET HANDICAP (1100m)

STEVIE'S MAY (9) is an improving commodity who is looking for her third win on the trot. She was good from midfield last start to win by 0.9L and the form out of that race has stacked up well. She may need some luck from the draw, but if she can improve again now and bring up the hat-trick. MYSTIC LOVE (12) went around in a stronger race lats start and wasn't disgraced. She's had a long time between drinks, though she maps for a great run today and her first-up effort suggested she was back in top order. Expecting her to be in the finish. COUSIN NICCI (8) was trending the right way two back before she just didn't come up last campaign. Spelled again and resumes without a trial with Nicoll on board who has won 2/4. Can return to her best. BIN SHALAA (1) is better than she showed last start here and can improve with that run under her belt. REQUISITION (5) is next best.

Race 6: ALL WA RACES LIVE AND FREE ON 7PLUS HANDICAP (1400m)

SNIPPY WHICH (4) just missed last start here following a good win prior over 1200m. He's been kept fresh for this, coming in 34-days between runs having jumped favourite in his past two efforts. Can sit back in the run and launch over the top of his rivals late in the race. WHAT A PRINCE (1) went around in the Batavia here 10 days ago and will find this a much better assignment for him. Out to 1400m looks ideal and he can put himself on the speed from the inside barrier. Best form is good enough and he can bounce back today. WESTOZI (3) was only fair in the Batavia when well beaten but his best form has come over this trip and further. Maps for a nice run just off the speed for Yuill and he'll be hitting his peak third-up. Can get back to his best now. DEEP SPEED (5) disappointed last start in town but was better in runs prior. Draws well and looks a key player. ADVANCED (2) is better than he showed last start and is not to be discounted.

Race 7: COUNTRY COMFORT PERTH RACY WEEKEND GETAWAY HANDICAP (1400m)

LA DETTE (2) has been running on fairly early this campaign in CL3 grade and she'll find this a little easier today. She's a third-up winner in the past and Fiore has also guided the mare to a victory. Out in trip now is a big tick and she can get back to her best. THE RUSH (3) bounced right back to form lats start with an eye-catching run over 1200m here. Getting back up to 1400m is a big tick and she may be able to sit a little closer from a better barrier today. She's right in this race. GEORGE GENTLY (9) drops back in trip after probably not seeing mile out last start. Turned in a trial since then and he can improve getting back in distance. Expecting a sharp turnaround in his form. MOMBASA (1) can build on a sound first-up effort. MASTER ALEX (6) is better than he showed last start and can bounce back third-up into the campaign.
