A pair of the best for Randwick on Saturday.
An inside draw and solid tempo should prove the recipe for success for the Michael Freedman trained Codetta, to score a well deserved victory in The Agency Real Estate BM 72 Handicap (1300m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
The consistent Nicconi filly has been plagued by bad barriers at all three runs this campaign, and finally has options on Saturday from barrier four.
Codetta meets a similar line up tomorrow after racing without cover last start. She pulled good ground off Diddle Dumpling to finish a courageous third over this trip at Rosehill Gardens.
Leading apprentice Zac Wadick takes the reins tomorrow, and was the last jockey to win on the filly last November at Canterbury.
Expect to see Codetta race closer from the draw where her race fitness can get her home at the $6 each way quote on her home track.
Our next best comes up in the ATC Thank You Owners BM 72 Handicap (1100m), with the O'Shea & Charlton-trained Livin' Thing.
Last start the three-year-old Yes Yes Yes gelding was slow into stride and drifted back. He presented at the right time before the runs closed inside the 200m to finish eighth over this track and trip.
Tommy Berry returns from his brief winter sojourn, and expect to see him position the gelding closer to the speed and recapture the form he produced earlier in the preparation.
The blinkers go on for the first time on Saturday, and the $7 on offer looks great value.
