Murray Bridge Races Review on 21st December 2024

After being out of the winner’s list for some time jockey Ben Price was triumphant when he guided Give Some Lip to victory in the 1200 metre opening race at Murray Bridge on Saturday.

Coming out of the Murray Bridge stable of Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea Give Some Lip  came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The husband and wife training team of Shayne and Chelsea Cahill were well pleased with the win of the first starter Dobbinair in the 1000 metre second race.

Purchased as a weanling the Jason Holder ridden Dobbinair was seen running on from a midfield position.

Apprentice Taylor Johnstone continued her success rate when she rode Seeking Stardom to a win in the 1600 metre third race.

Winning successive races the Andrew Gluyas trained Seeking Stardom  raced in a better than midfield position.

Magnetic Edge  turned back the hands of time when he won his first race in eleven months taking out the 2000 metre fourth race.

Prepared on the track by John Hickmott and Carrina Riggs the Zoe Lloyd ridden Magnetic Edge Came from last on the home turn.

Coming off a last start second on the Morphettville Parks track Jazz affair went one better when she took out the 1200 metre fifth race.

Being under the care of Richard and Chantelle Jolly the Jake Toeroek guided Jazz affair was another winner to come from the rear of the field. [p1] 

The training brothers of Gary and Dean Alexander continued the run of Murray Bridge trainers when Angelic Appeal took out the 1400 metre sixth race.

Having the services of Jacob Opperman Angelic Appeal  came from a worse than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Trainer David Jolly has big hopes for his charge Volcanic Express the winner of the 1000 metre seventh race.

Ridden by Kayla Crowther Volcanic Express continued the run of back runners going on to win.

Morphettville based trainer Byron Cozamanis was full of praise for Devil's Dexter who gave him a win in the 1600 metre eighth race.

Making it two wins in a row the apprentice Alana Livesey Devil's Dexter sat one off the pace until late in the race fighting off a close finish.

After training a double at Pakenham trainer Phillip Stokes capped off a good day when his charge Runaway Statement won the 1400 metre final event.

Ridden by Lachlan Neindorf Runaway Statement, who arrived at the Stokes Morphettville stable on Friday, came from a midfield position to bring up his second win from eight starts.
