We've found a horse to follow from Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
Race 3: High Society Girl (3rd)
High Society Girl is a super consistent mare that has already won a metropolitan race this campaign so it's likely she's already got a spot in a few black books.
But she deserves to stay there after another top performance in defeat on Saturday, in which she closed off from last to finish within half of length of the winner Test The Law.
Granted, Test The Law gave High Society Girl 6.5kg in the weights so there was plenty of merit in the winner's run, but Stephen Theodore's mare had to give him a several length head start when the pace went into the race at the 800m.
In a moderately run race, she closed off with the fastest 600m, 400m and 200m of the race. She's a mare that possesses a short, sharp sprint so the fact that she was exposed and chasing a long way from home worked against her chances as well.
In a similar staying event and on another rain-affected track (the wetter the better), she can be winning again this preparation.
