15 remain in St Leger Stakes

15 horses remain in contention for the Betfred St Leger Stakes following the latest acceptance stage on Tuesday. Leading trainer Aidan O'Brien is responsible for over half of those that remain in contention, with current ante-post market leader and Goodwood Cup hero Scandinavia expected to head the Ballydoyle team.

They could be joined by dual Derby hero Lambourn, who was last seen disappointing in the Sky Bet Voltiguer Stakes at York last week, and Stay True, who finished fourth in the same contest.

Surprisingly, three-time Oaks heroine Minnie Hauk remains in contention, despite O'Brien suggesting that the daughter of Frankel will have the Arc on her agenda. Galveston, Saratoga, Shackleton and Thrice make up the eight O'Brien possibles.

With Carmers and Tennessee Stud both remaining in the mix for Paddy Twomey and Joseph O'Brien, British-trained contenders are down to five, headed by Charlie Johnston's Epsom Derby runner-up Lazy Griff. Arabian Force, who finished third in the Great Voltigeur for William Haggas, could be joined by Andrew Balding's pair of recent winners Furthur and Tarriance, while Roger Varian is responsible for Rahiebb.

Amo Racing to move You Got To Me

Amo Racing have moved the 2024 Irish Oaks heroine You Got To Me from Ralph Beckett to Adrian Murray in Ireland.

A winner of the Irish Oaks two seasons ago in the colours of Valmont, You Got To Me was subsequently purchased by powerhouse owners Amo Racing for an eye-opening 4,800,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale.

You Got To Me went on to finish runner-up in last year's Yorkshire Oaks, but has failed to beat a rival home since, finishing last in the 2024 St Leger Stakes before filling the same position on her reappearance in the Coronation Cup at Epsom.

Victorious Racing and KHK Racing to join forces

Leading Bahraini owners and brothers Shaikh Nasser bin Hamed Al Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid, who operate under the banner of Victorious Racing and KHK Racing respectively, will join forces.

The new partnership will be run under the label of Victorious Forever, with their runners set to carry the well-renowned red and white silks of Victorious Racing. Victorious Racing have enjoyed multiple Group 1 and Royal Ascot success with Bradsell, while KHK Racing tasted Classic glory in 2020 thanks to Eldar Eldarov in the 2022 St Leger. The same ownership, whose silks used to feature distinct black and yellow colours, watched their high-class colt Vandeek become champion juvenile the following season.

Diego Velazquez set American assignment

Diego Velazquez looks likely to make the final two outings of his career in America, with connections revealing that he will head to Keeneland for the Coolmore Turf Mile on October 4.

Recently purchased by Sam Sangster to stand as a stallion at The National Stud in Newmarket on behalf of a syndicate, the Aidan O'Brien-trained son of Frankel will head to America looking to book his ticket in the Breeders' Cup Mile following a gutsy success in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.

The Coolmore Turf Mile at Keeneland acts as a 'win and you're in' for the Breeders' Cup Mile at Del Mar in November.
