A former champion amateur jockey, Aiden O'Brien took up a trainer's license at the age of 23 and made an immediate impact as a jumps trainer sending out two winners at his first meeting.
O'Brien broke the record for number of wins in a year at only his second season before trying his hand at training flat horses in 1996 after taking over at the famous Ballydoyle stables in Tipperary for Coolmore.
Success started to come for Aiden O'Brien during the 1997 season winning the Irish 1,000 with Classic Park, and the 2,000 Guineas-Irish Derby double with Desert King.
The following season, O'Brien picked up his first English Classic when King Of Kings won the 2,000 Guineas and in 2001 he became the first overseas trainer since Vincent O'Brien (His Predecessor) to win the British trainers' title.
O'Brien has continued to train Group 1 winners all over the world and is recognised as one of the top trainers with feature wins in Ireland, Britain, France, America, Hong Kong, Australia, UAE, Canada and Italy.
Some of the best horses O'Brien has trained include Desert King, Rock Of Gibraltar, Yeats, High Chaparall, Dylan Thomas, So You Think, Holy Roman Emperor, Henrythenavigator and Galileo.
