Eleven runners have been declared at the five-day stage for both the 6f Group 1 Cheveley Park Stud Stakes and the 6f Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
The Cheveley Park Stud Stakes has produced some exceptional fillies over the years, with last year's winner Lake Victoria going on to victory in the Irish 1000 Guineas during her three-year-old campaign. Ed Walker's Royal Fixation will be looking to repel the Aidan O'Brien challenge, having won the 6f Group 2 Lowther Stakes during York's Ebor Festival on her third career start. She continues to improve, with her only defeat coming behind subsequent 6f Group 1 Prix Morny heroine Venetian Sun at Newmarket.
Aidan O'Brien is double-handed with True Love and Beautify, who have different profiles. True Love was victorious at Royal Ascot in the 5f Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes and has since ran well over six furlongs, including a success in the Group 2 Railway Stakes and a commendable second in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes against the boys. Beautify has only experienced three outings, but her win in the 6f Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes is a strong piece of form and she was only beaten less than a length by stablemate Precise when stepped up to seven furlongs for the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes.
Other contenders include recent Group 2 Prix du Calvados second Fitzella, the inexperienced America Queen and the consistent Anthelia.
In the Middle Park Stakes, which was won by European Two-Year-Old Of The Year Shadow Of Light in 2024, Godolphin are again represented by Wise Approach, who was last seen finishing half-a-length third in the Prix Morny. An experienced performer, the son of Mehmas has a consistent record in Stakes company this season.
Aidan O'Brien fields Gstaad, winner of the 6f Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, who backs up quickly after a narrow head second in the 7f Group 1 National Stakes. The Starspangledbanner colt is returning to six furlongs, having finished runner-up in the Prix Morny prior to the Curragh. The Publican's Son, trained by Joseph O'Brien, produced an exceptional performance on debut at the Curragh to finish runner-up in the 6f Group 2 Round Tower Stakes and should only improve for the experience.
Clive Cox's Goodwood winner Coppull, Doncaster victor Puerto Rico and the improving Hilitany could also feature.
