The Aga Khan Studs revealed on Thursday that this season’s Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Daryz will remain in training as a four-year-old.
The progressive son of Sea The Stars, who did not race on as a four-year-old following his Arc success, took his form to a new level when swooping late to get the better of Aidan O'Brien's Minnie Hauk in Europe's greatest middle-distance prize at Longchamp last weekend.
Francis-Henri Graffard's colts future remained undecided in the aftermath of his memorable success, but connections have revealed on Thursday that he would be kept in training for the 2026 season.
A statement read: "Daryz, who gave the Aga Khan family a record eighth victory in the Arc, will remain in training at four and will not race again this season.
"His victory at Longchamp has been rated the best performance in Europe this season, with a Timeform rating of 131."
Daryz won his first four career outings before being stepped up to Group 1 level in this season's Juddmonte International at York. He struggled to land a blow on that occasion but bounced back to form with an excellent second-place finish in the Prix du Prince d'Orange before relishing the step up to 2400m in last Sunday's Arc.
