Sam King is back with three selections on Friday.
Newmarket hosts some top-class action with the Fillies' Mile taking center stage, while York has some interesting racing on the level and jumps fans will have an eye on Chepstow for the opener.
The William Haggas-trained Yabher looks particularly interesting in the bet365 Old Rowley Cup Handicap (3.30). An impressive winner over a mile and a quarter at Sandown off 6lb lower, Yabher looked to be travelling nicely in a competitive handicap at Glorius Goodwood before clipping heels at the three-furlong pole.
He looked lucky to stand up and get away with things on that occasion but it's no surprise to see connections give him a couple of months off subsequently.
The son of Sea The Stars – who is a half-brother to the talented Listed winner Al Mubhir – remains unexposed since being gelded and should relish stepping up to a mile and a half for the first time.
Yabher – 1pt Win
Odds – 6/1
Earlier on the card, Cosmic Year can take plenty of stopping in the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards Challenge Stakes (2.25).
Disappointing since chasing home Field Of Gold in the Irish 2000 Guineas earlier in the season, Cosmic Year looks to have been found a nice opening to get back to winning ways for the Harry Charlton and Juddmonte team.
Dropping back to seven furlongs on better ground looks to be a huge positive, while it's easy to upgrade his effort when last of four in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood at the beginning of August. He was short of racing room on multiple occasions there before being given an easy time of things in the straight.
The form of his success in the Listed course and distance King Charles II Stakes in May looks solid with the runner-up going on to score at Group 2 level and this looks to be a winnable opportunity for the son of Kingman.
Cosmic Year – 1pt Win
Odds – 5/2
Over at York, Ice Max catches the eye in the William Hill Autumn Mile Handicap (1.30).
Karl Burke has been exceptional at placing his top weights in big handicaps this season, as highlighted by Liberty Lane's performance in the Cambridgeshire at HQ two weeks ago, and Ice Max could be another to add to the tally.
Despite showing mixed results in Group company in recent starts, Ice Max arrives at York returning to handicaps off a workable mark and you only have to go back to last season to find him landing the Group 2 Celebration Mile by a length at Goodwood.
He wasn't beaten far behind Jonquil when he was denied a clear run in the same contest this year and with that form looking like some of the best on offer, he gets the nod to defy topweight under Shane Gray.
Ice Max – 1pt Win
Odds – 11/1
