MIssing a run in the Stradbroke: "It does feel like a consolation prize but it is a good race to win. It is his second go at weight-for-age even though it probably isn't a true eight-for-age race.
"It was just important to see him jump, travel, and be strong at the end of a mile.
"I know on the corner he had a bit of a flat spot but I think that was due to the slower tempo up the back. They really backed it down and made a sprint on the leader.
"I thought he was really good. He's a strong horse and the team behind him, they're adamany on pedigree and everything he doe he's going to get 2000-metres and I think that is evident on what we saw today.
"When you've got McDonald on board you don't have as many worries as you think."

"He was good. I thought he'd win a little bit easier, but he sustained a really long run. The leader ran a good race and made us work for it but he dug deep and got the job done."
The on and off pace: "It definitely took his sprint away but I think he's got a bit to work with."
