"He's the right sort of horse for a race like this. We decided to bypass most of the carnival with him to bring him to Ipswich with fresh legs. Hopefully he can now go on with it in the off-season, we might aim him up at the Newmarket or something like that."

"The tempo really came out of that race so he was quite keen. For a race with good depth and what looked like some good speed in it, they really dawdled. But Vlad looked like he had a lapful of horse and he was strong late. He's going a lot wrong and he has a tendency to lay in, but we've only had him for three runs so we're still learning about him. But I think he's in for a really good prep now."

"He's a strong-headed bugger, so he didn't make it easy. I was hoping to get in the one-one position, but we ended up flushed out three wide. I still thought I had the race in our keeping a long way out, because we started to blend into the race nicely and Tony had him spot-on today. He'd trialled up nicely coming into the race, so there's a nice race in him if he can keep improving."
