Winning Trainer: John McArdle
On the horse: "We were a bit disappointed when we didn't get a run in the Seymour Cup when he was favourite but he was fourth emergency and we've seen this race and with the set weights and penalties and the way it sort of panned out, he got in good at the weights and probably would have liked to be 1600 (metres), he gets further in front but it worked out perfectly tonight."
"The horse has done an enormous job, that's his ninth run this time in, he's only had twenty starts. I've been wondering when he's had enough but maybe there's another one in we'll see."
Big group of owners: "Yeah, look, great bunch of owners and Mark Burkhart and Lenny Russo from Regal Bloodstock, they do a great job and bought a lovely horse at the ready to run (sales), a nice So You Think Colt, so yeah, might be worth people giving Mark a call."
Suited this trip: "When he didn't get the run in the Seymour Cup, he was a bit up and about so we took him to Caulfield, back to 1400 (metres) and those good sprinting horses, stay a bit closer to him, out to 1500 or 1600 he can get a bit away from them and Daniel rides him perfectly, and yeah, he was tough in the finish again.
Winning Jockey: Daniel Stackhouse
On the win: "Yeah, he just seems to love The Valley, he sort of just lifts. Like today he was really on his job, when we stepped, he was straight on the bridle and we had a little bit of work to cross them. But he just felt so good and he had his ears pricked. He just found a lovely rhythm. And when they came to him early, he just rode the bridle again and just nursed him into it. He just kicked well off the corner and held them off."
"Yeah, look, big credit to John and his stable and team. They do a lot of work and keep getting them to back up and getting results."
