Winning Trainer: Chris Waller
On the horse: "He's a good honest horse, he deserved this win today. He hasn't been far away in each of his runs. He didn't get a lot of luck in The Metropolitan last start, it was a thrilling finish."
On the slow tempo of the race: "Our form man said 'don't put any pressure on the English horse (race favourite Sam Hawkens) because it will outstay you.' He said 'we're in Australia, go as slow as you can and sprint home.' We didn't put any pressure on James (McDonald) and we managed to have that superior turn of foot."
On having another run this prep: "Probably not. I think he's done a good job and we'll bring him back for the Autumn. We'll have some fun with him."
Winning Jockey: Zac Lloyd
On the run: "It was cruisy trip around. He's such a pleasure to ride so I've still got a bit of breath. Very excited with that one. I didn't ride him the best last time I sat so it's good to repay the owners and masterful training by Chris (Waller). I thought he was a bit suspect at 2400m and he's won at 2600m today, so a good effort."
On his pet distance: "He relaxes so well, he puts himself on speed. He's a trainer's dream and I'm sure Chris will find out the best for him but was very happy to get the job done today."
On Linebacker later in the card: "Hopefully can go well, he's only going to improve off today. If he wins today he's right on target but I wouldn't be upset just to see him run well and get beat a couple of lengths because he's got plenty of improvement to come."
Beaten Jockeys:
Jason Collett (Asterix): "Much improved run. Settled better in a moderately run race. A sprint home but he's gone well."
Damian Lane (Soul Of Spain): "Good run. Just lacked a bit of clear air when the others were building momentum. Was good late."
Kerrin McEvoy (Etna Rosso): "He ran great. Very brave. Was able to get a good spot. Thought he was the winner at the furlong. Just got out-bobbed."
Tom Sherry (Son Of Sun): "Might need a bit more of a cut out of the track but not good enough today."
Regan Bayliss (Trust In You): "Just needed a bit more tempo in a sit and sprint."
Tommy Berry (More Felons): "The speed of the race didn't really help us there. I thought he dashed home pretty quickly. They sped home in 34 and change off the front. He's heading toward the Cup and will be competitive staying all day."
Ethan Brown (Wyclif): "I think he jarred up on that going."
James McDonald (Sam Hawkens): "I thought he ran well. Gave me a good feel. Would have loved something to follow up."
Dylan Gibbons (Don Diego De Vega): "Super run. Had to try something from back to try and win the race. Thought he was gallant to the line."
