Today’s Horse Racing Tips - 23rd June 2025

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 23.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Scone, Toowoomba,
Pakenham Synthetic and Narromine.

SCONE: RACE 3 @ 1:55 PM

FARSET (7) expected to go on with the job here after gripping on late when resuming with a narrow second over 1000m at Goulburn. Looks too good for these over the 1100m. DUNLEARY (2) Dundeel gelding from Simply Carina on debut for the Angela Davies yard. Can clearly gallop judging by his three good trials. Big market watch. BETTER BREAKOUT (1) form either side of a spell has been disappointing. Resumed last start and was sixth over 1000m at Goulburn. Fitter and in the mix in this small field. PERASTA (3) placed two starts back at Newcastle before struggling to win in easier grade at Muswellbrook over 1280m last time out. Watch for any market confidence.
SELECTIONS: Farset to take holding out.

TOOWOOMBA: RACE 1 @ 12:13 PM

Tricky race to kick off the card with many of these babies facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade MINGELA (3) was well-found on debut but just ran into one better at Doomben in a promising performance. Will have derived a stack of benefit from that day at the races and should find this assignment a touch easier. Rates the testing material. MISHANI MOET (10) has race experience on her side and has tuned up for this with a recent trial hit-out. Can feature with natural improvement. OVER DRAFT (4) is a first-starter that has shown some ability at the trials and any market support must be noted. I'M LUCKY TWO (14) will be better for that first-up outing and may earn some minor money. HELL TO THE LINE (1) is sure to be well-educated from the Geran camp and a watch on betting is advised.
SELECTIONS: Mingela to go one better.

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 3 @ 2:00 PM

MR ZEUS (3) looks the clear horse to beat. Liked his debut at Mornington when kept safe in betting, showing early speed to lead and sticking on well for second over 1500m. Finds a very winnable race here against horses with far more convictions and he should just roll to the top and prove too good. RANG A ROUND UP (12) was quickly spelled after struggling on debut at Geelong over 1243m but has jumped out better leading in here and should find this trip far more to his liking being by Highland Reel. INSPIRED CHOICE (8) has had plenty of chances but isn't going terribly and this isn't the deepest race. Can sneak into the minors. FIORENTINE ROSE (6) hasn't shown much to date but is lightly raced and open to improvement while HAYAI TSURU (7) can work home into the first four.
SELECTIONS: Mr Zeus to win.

NARROMINE: RACE 5 @ 2:55 PM

WEST HEAD (4) broke his maiden in emphatic style last start for new trainer Brett Robb, closing strongly to win by a widening 1.5 lengths over this distance at Coonamble. Drops sharply in the weights with Quince's claim and can win again. Perennial placegetter TRUST A KITTY (7) was at it again last start, making up plenty of late ground but finding one better over the mile at Warren. Will go back again from a wide draw and is one to watch for late in proceedings. The lightly raced three-year-old JASPER'S WAY (3) made late inroads but was no match for the winner in a Class 1 over today's journey at Warren last start. Should give a good account again. Last start maiden winner MATILDA OF TUSCANY (10) has plenty of improvement to come and shouldn't mind the step up in distance.
SELECTIONS: West Head is well placed to win again.
