Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 6.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Moonee Valley, Doomben, Belmont and Morphettville Parks.
RANDWICK: RACE 6 @ 2:45 PM
Advantage SAVVY HALLIE (3) from the good draw with the fitness edge third up. Has further upside to come after proving too strong when winning the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes over this track and trip. Can make it three straight. WITHIN THE LAW (1) tough filly who returned in good order when a game second to Savvy Hallie in the G2 Silver Shadow. Will go back from the draw and give them a big start. Place preferred. APOCALYPTIC (16) well bred filly returning from a lengthy break. Held up in the straight on debut when a gritty second to Gallo Nero over 1100m here last December. Looked to be trucking in both trials and good enough to give some of these a fright. TUPAKARA (2) talented filly resuming after going under narrowly when third in the G1 Champagne Stakes at this track over the mile last April. Given the two trials and will keep improving as she gets out in trip. MEMO (4) dodged the wet tracks of late and gets the right set up at her first run back. Will be strong late.
SELECTIONS: Savvy Hallie to hold them off again.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 10 @ 5:25 PM
Excited to see KING ZEPHYR (3) back at the races. He went on a winning streak through the grades last time in, putting up strong numbers and margins before striking a wet track in the Listed Straight Six at Flemington and coming to the end of his campaign. He's had three jumpouts to prepare and should be wound up for this given he's likely looking to sneak into the Rupert Clarke Stakes field in a few weeks' time. LA FRACAS (1) has also put up a picket fence, winning his past three. His last start win at Flemington was excellent when switching across the field and charging late. He's off a let up for this and onto a dry track but has to be respected. FLYER (6) tried hard behind EPIC PROPORTIONS (2) first up in a bunched finish. Flyer meets Epic Proportions better at the weights here but both have each way claims. HELIX (8) is a handy sort who has jumped out well and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: King Zephyr to win.
DOOMBEN: RACE 2 @ 12:33 PM
THE RIGHT WAY (2) grows a leg for hoop Lang who has three wins and three placings from just seven steers and again gets the benefit of her 1.5kg claim. Racing with a lot of confidence of late and rates the one they all have to run down. SOUL OF SPAIN (6) returned in good order with a strong Ipswich victory and looks ready for the step-up in trip now. Keep safe from the Waller stable. JUST FLYING (7) is one from one around this circuit and winning rider Jones sticks. Capable of another strong showing. ENCODER (1) strips fitter third-up from the break and gets plenty of weight relief with the 3kg claim. Sure to be competitive. KETTLE HILL (4) next in line in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: The Right Way to bring up the hat-trick.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 5:49 PM
Time for the feature of the day and COOL MEMORY (6) will give them something to chase up front. He was very good here last start when giving nothing else a chance and that form may have been franked in the race prior. He draws to lead once again with Brad Parnham replacing the senior and he'll be hard to run down with no weight on his back. FLURO NEURO (3) has been impressive this time in and gets Pike in the saddle now third-up. The draw is the niggle however as he will be well back in the run, though he's finished off powerfully in both runs this campaign and the slight rise in trip suits. RUSSIAN TO THE BAR (10) is first-up here but it looks a good spot for him with bigger targets on offer. His trial coming in was solid and he can be finishing off nicely. Willing to give SALOON BAR (2) one last chance after he didn't have the best of luck fresh. Needs to show something now with a favourable set up.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 6 @ 3:47 PM
It was hard to miss the first-up run of KALASEC (3), who settled at the rear of the field and hit the line well in a similar race at the track and distance last start. From the better draw and with one run under his belt, he should be able to settle closer and he will take some beating. LEFT TURN CLYDE (4) was only fair last start but his prior runs in similar grade are good enough too measure up here. He's drawn well and gets a handy 3kg which brings him into contention. BRISTLER (2) is hard to catch but he keeps doing enough to suggest another win isn't far away. He is a top three chance again. MY HARUCONI (12) should be able to hold a spot from a kind draw, while Victorian visitor INFINITE MATRIX (5) can measure up.
SELECTIONS: Backing Kalasec to win.
