Trainer - JOHN P THOMPSON

John Thompson learned his craft from some of the best in the business, starting as a foreman for his trainer father Vic Thompson before taking up a position with Bill Mitchell for four years and Bart Cummings for eight years.
In 2009 and with 20 years experience the fourth generation trainer was offered and accepted the role as head trainer for Patinack Farm and it took only six months to win his first Group 1 with Small Minds in the 2010 Australasian Oaks.
In 2014 and over 50 Stakes wins later, Patinack Farm dissolved which left Thompson to build his career up again going on to win the Group 1 Flight Stakes with First Seal only weeks later.
