Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 21.
Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Kyneton, Grafton and Townsville.
KYNETON: RACE 8 @ 5:00 PM
ENTRUSTING (4) has needed the two starts this preparation and should be ready to fire. Three back he won a Sandown-Lakeside 70 over this distance and raced and Group and Stakes level following. Proven third-up and has plenty up the sleeve. The one to beat. COMPRESSING (6) resumed over 1600m at Moonee Valley and needed the outing. Won a 64 at his sole second-up outing and was last seen racing in Adelaide at Group level over longer trips. 2x winning rider John Allen is reunited and he'll he hitting the line. MARIOTA (11) improved again placing this distance range at Sale. Strips fitter and also has each way claims. Ditto FINALE (13) who was beaten narrowly at Mornington before a disappointing run at Moonee Valley (vet cleared). He was a big winner his only start here and steps up to this distance for the first time.
SELECTIONS: Backing Entrusting.

GRAFTON: RACE 1 @ 1:15 PM
The Matthew Dunn-trained RUPESTRIS (2) returns from a six-month spell and has been gelded. Raced once in the maiden prep and wasn't beaten far over 1110m at Doomben. Trialled well at the Gold Coast recently and looks set for a big return. EGYPTIAN LASS (5) was easily accounted for in a small field over this course and distance seven days ago. Well drawn so although her form isn't great in a weak maiden she can figure prominently. STRATTON (7) didn't finish his race off as hoped in a 1300m maiden at Ballina last time out. Placed here at this trip last prep and cannot be ruled out. SURAT DISTRICT (8) resumes after a 14-week break. Did little last prep which was punctuated by a stable change. Might have more to offer this time in work. PRESTIGE GUNDY (3) can improve after tackling a strong maiden on debut last start. ZALENKA (9) and DAZZLING PEACE (1) are first starters worth monitoring for market support.
SELECTIONS: Rupestris looks too good for a very ordinary maiden field.
TOWNSVILLE: RACE 1 @ 2:45 PM
BREECHES (5) is unlucky to still be a maiden hitting the top-four at her past six starts and strikes a very winnable contest here. Gets in well at the weights with the 1.5kg claim and should be right there when the whips are cracking. MISS COMANECI (7) was a touch disappointing last time out but the form prior was good enough for a race of this nature. Worth another chance. Former Victorian ELLIS BEACH (1) is having his first run for the new stable but should find this task easier than what he faced down south. Keep very safe. THE GENERAL TALKS (4) has been thereabouts in all four runs this preparation and looks a must for the multiples. NATIONAL GOAL (2) will be at peak fitness now fourth-up from the break and may earn some minor money.
SELECTIONS: Breeches to shed the maiden tag.
