Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 22.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Kembla Grange, Cranbourne, Sunshine Coast, Morphettville and Ascot.
KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 8 @ 4:45 PM
GRINGOTTS (1) won this race last year and going even better this prep. Anchored with the 62kg when stormed home late to score a courageous win in the LR Big Dance at Randwick over the mile. Gets map favours and the main dangers have drawn poorly. Hard to stop. ESTADIO MESTALLA (3) tough gelding who's gone to a new level this time in. Surged late from last on the turn when a slashing sixth in the G2 The Hunter at Newcastle over 1300m last Saturday. Will have to pull out a similar performance again from the gate. Respect. TAVI TIME (13) drifted back further than expected and held up badly in the straight when a frustrating eighth in the LR Big Dance. Key jockey change and can take a hand in the finish with even luck. DUCASSE (18) comes right into calculations in the rain arrives. Solid effort when fifth over 1800m in the LR Five Diamonds at Rosehill. PALMETTO (16) back in trip and can surprise at the big odds.
SELECTIONS: Gringotts from the good draw.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 9 @ 5:05 PM
NADAL (3) won the inaugural edition of this race last year with a blistering performance, coming from a mile back to win by nearly three lengths. He was off an injury leading into this campaign. First up he did enough over an unsuitable 1000m when peaking late before travelling well at Flemington when well supported but clearly hating the very heavy ground, dropping right out when the pressure came. Suspect he can bounce back. JIGSAW (2) is flying. He backed up the win here with another speedy performance in the G2 McEwen Stakes at Moonee Valley. He'll give a huge sight out in front. ARKANSAW KID (1) is off a short spell but has the class to take this out, can't discount. NEED SOME LUCK (6) relished the heavy ground to win well at Flemington. Goes in all conditions and should run very well again. HEDGED (8) is going well without luck his past couple. There was nothing between him and Jigsaw here prior, he can break through.
SELECTIONS: Nadal to go back-to-back.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 6 @ 4:17 PM
The well-related WARBY (1) (half to G1 winner and stallion Captivant) goes well for rider Maloney who has only missed a drum once in nine steers and looks to be building up to another victory. Drawn to get a cosy run in transit from gate three and rates the one they all have to run down. Former Victorian BAND OF BROTHERS (6) has hit the frame in both runs since joining the Dunn barn and should find this easier than what he faced down south. Capable of a strong showing. HEMAN (13) lost the rider last time out but go on the strong Doomben win three back. Sure to be thereabouts with luck in running. POCKET FULL (2) strips fitter third-up from the spell, draws the inside marble and gets 3kg weight relief with the claim. Plenty to like about his prospects.
SELECTIONS: Warby to get back into the winners' stall.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 2 @ 1:43 PM
The staying feature of the day and ARUGAMAMA (1) looks the clear standout. She destroyed her rivals in a heat of this series over the track and distance two starts back and she can repeat the dose here. She was far from disgraced in a harder race in Melbourne during Cup week last start. Back to SA, she can roll forward, race in the first four and will be hard to hold out. TALISAY (6) has never won beyond 1550m, but she's been racing like a horse that will appreciate the rise to 2500m. She's got plenty of ability and looks a strong top-three chance. It's aggressive placement with KIRKLISTON BLU (4), who is running for the third consecutive week, having stepped straight from 1400m to 2250m and now to 2500m. He does look a stayer on the rise through so he can finish in the money. CAPULET (2) and EVENTUALLY (3) can both sneak into the placings with the right run.
SELECTIONS: Backing Arugamama to win.
ASCOT: RACE 10 @ 8:40 PM
SMOOTH CHINO (2) kept his unbeaten streak alive 21 days ago when sitting on the speed and bolting in by 1.3L in impressive fashion. The second horse in that race won here last week. He'll need a gap on straightening, but he should be better again now with that run under his belt and he can continue his winning ways. SHMOOV MOOVA (3) comes here on the fresh side and created plenty of interest back to 1200m. Getting back on top of the ground looks a big positive for him and he has performed well in the past. Can swoop late and make his presence felt. DEEL HER IN (9) disappointed out in trip last start and they've made a few gear changes to get her to settle better in the run now. Still has some upside being a lightly raced commodity and she's not to be discounted. REGAL STATUE (16) is on the quick turnaround after a good run in the Jungle Mist last week. Not out of this.
SELECTIONS: Smooth Chino looks the one to beat in the last.
