Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 9.
Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Wagga, Ballina and Rockhampton.
WAGGA: RACE 4 @ 3:40 PM
PRIDE OF JEZZA (2) was an eye-catcher here fresh when rattling home from the tail to grab third. Sure to have tightened from that run and will relish the rise to the mile. With McDougall sticking, he looks very hard to hold out. Stablemate SUPER NIC (10) is mixing his form but was brave here last time when beaten a head. The in-form Boudvillain takes over and he looms as a clear danger. SABATINA (6) has returned in good order and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside. Had excuses when a beaten favourite at Wellington and can bounce back sharply. TIS NO MAN (3) was a determined maiden winner two back at Queanbeyan before a sound midfield effort at Albury. Still has scope for improvement and is among the chances.
SELECTIONS: Pride Of Jezza to win.

BALLINA: RACE 6 @ 5:15 PM
GIAPPONESE (5) was well supported on resumption when attacking the line strongly for a narrow second over 1400m at Grafton. Has the upside to go on with it here from the awkward barrier. ADEQUATE EZE (3) is a lightly raced gelding improving with racing. Warmed up late when second in a small field over 1415m at Ballina. Can race a little closer from the draw and is expected to take a hand in the finish. SKIEDA (10) resumes after disappointing last time in work. Fitted with the two searching trials and primed for a first-up victory. BLIGHTYS HOPE (7) returns from a lengthy break. Failed to fire in her first campaign and expected to have matured. Given the one 1000m trial at the Gold Coast. Improver in this weaker race.
SELECTIONS: Giapponese to salute.
ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 2 @ 1:34 PM
TURBO TORQUE (3) resumes here but the form he showed when last in work was good enough to be competitive in a race of this nature. Gets 2kg off with the claim and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. WAYNO (4) is on debut here but won a recent trial in dominant fashion and rider Butler stays on top for race day. Looks all set for a bright start. AUGUST JOE (1) has been thereabouts in both starts to date over this track and trip and has race experience over a few of these. Top-three aspirations. LADY WILLPOWER (8) gets Wiggins on board and can run a race while fresh. INNOVADER (7) next in line from the inside alley.
SELECTIONS: Turbo Torque to shed the maiden tag.
